Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, is a 1999 Disney Channel Original Movie, starring Kirsten Storms in the titular role. It was directed by Kenneth Johnson and based on the book of the same name written by Roger Bollen and Marilyn Sadler.[citation needed]

Zenon is named after the chemical element xenon, which means "stranger" in Greek.[1]

Zenon Kar, a mischievous 13 year old girl, lives with her family on a space station orbiting the Earth in the year 2049 CE. After getting into trouble with Chief Windom, the space station's commander, Zenon is punished by being exiled to planet earth. After several weeks on Earth, Zenon receives evidence that her home, the space station, is in trouble. Zenon must find a way to return to the space station in hopes of saving her family, her friends, and her home. [1]
