Xavier Dotson, better known as Zaytoven,[1] is an American record producer out of Atlanta, Georgia born in Germany on an Army base[2] but raised in San Francisco, California and later to move to Atlanta, Georgia. Since then, he has worked with Gucci Mane extensively, contributing at least one song on every one of his albums, and doing many mixtapes with him. He has also worked with other notable Atlanta artists, such as Soulja Boy Tell 'Em, Gorilla Zoe, Young Jeezy and OJ Da Juiceman. He first started making beats for local San Francisco artists such as Messy Marv and San Quinn."It was during his time in San Francisco did Zay reach his formative years. He learned to play piano, guitar and organ in the church choir and soon began selling beats to local Bay Area rappers.

..I was producing for this dude in California, and I was playing a lhe suxks producing for gucci lol fuck outta here only real hiphop in wikipedia cuh he became the go-to producer for JT Tha Bigga Figga and Messy Marv. But just as his hustle got good, his family packed up and moved to Georgia. Since Zay had a good, money-making hustle in Cali, he decided to stay.

..I had just started doing music about that time,.. he remembers, ..so I stayed...

It wouldn..t be until five years later would Zaytoven join the rest of his family in the Dirty South back in 2000. ..I got enough money to get my own equipment, and I didn..t really have no place to put it there,.. he says. ..So I moved to where my people were, and I brought my equipment..." [3]
