Yumi Stynes is a television presenter for an Australian television channel shown on Max. She is known for her sense of humour and meticulously researched interviews. Recent interview subjects include Australian musician Bob Evans, British comedian Steve Coogan, violin sensation Andre Rieu, US TV host and comedian Joel McHale, directors JJ Abrams and Adam Elliot, "it" comedian Russell Brand and actors Nick Frost, Paul Walker and Keanu Reeves. She has also presented for other channels including Foxtel's Select, ABC as part of 'Sleek Geeks', and SBS for the IF Awards.

She previously presented for Channel V Australia, originally winning her job as part of the 'Channel [V] Reporter Search', along with another popular VJ, James Mathison (who went on to host Australian Idol). Yumi presented on 'Reel Spiel', '50 Minutes' both on Channel [V] and has hosted the ASTRA Award-winning 'Max Sessions: Powderfinger'. Yumi has also appeared at the ARIA Music Awards as a presenter and done similar appearances at the APRA Awards, ASTRA Awards, Filmink Awards and IF Awards.
As a writer, Yumi Stynes has made regular contributions to Filmink, Grazia and is a regular blogger and film critic for Bigpond.

Yumi has two daughters with her ex-boyfriend Ben Ely from Regurgitator. Yumi is also the bassist and vocalist for Sydney band THE PUNISHERZ. As the daughter of a Japanese mother and white Australian father, she often refers to the ironies of being a mixed-blood Asian in a mostly white society.
