Yoga (Devanagari: योग) is a group of ancient spiritual practices originating in India and is an unrelated word in Japanese language. Outside India, Yoga is mostly associated with the practice of asanas (postures) of Yoga.

• Raja Yoga (the term as used in Hindu philosophy)

These three concepts delineate the various means through which people are able to achieve an Enlightened state, according to the Bhagavad Gita and later Hindu literature.

• Bhakti yoga is the process of achieving Moksha through devotions. This lies at the root of the later Bhakti movement, which had a profound influence on Hindu practices, even to this day.
• Karma Yoga works in the direction of Moksha through one's actions, by following one's Dharma. By dedicating good and proper actions to the Godhead, one is able to purify one's Soul and achieve Liberation.
• Jnana Yoga is the cultivation of fine discrimination in the intellect in order to achieve Moksha. Central to this method is the understanding of the fundamental distinction between the Body and Self.
