William B. Glen (born October 30, 1977 in Indianapolis, Indiana) is a minor league pitcher with the Florida Marlins organization. Glen was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Toronto Blue Jay in 2001 out of the University of Evansville. He played two seasons in the Jays minor league system, one with the Class A Charleston Alley Cats of the South Atlantic League and one with the A-Advanced Dunedin Blue Jays of the Florida State League. In 2003 he was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies organization where he played for one season. He started out playing for the A-Advanced Clearwater Phillies of the Florida State League, and he advanced to the AA Reading Phillies of the Eastern League. In 2004 he was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays organization where he played for one season. He started out playing for the AA Montgomery Biscuits of the Southern League, and he advanced to the AAA Durham Bulls of the International League. In 2005 he was traded to the White Sox organization where he started out playing for the AA Birmingham Barons of the Southern League before he was released.[1] He was signed as a free agent on June 11, 2005 by the Gary SouthShore RailCats[2] of the independent Northern League where he played for three seasons. In 2007 he was named Northern League pitcher of the year and MVP of the Championship series. He was the 2007 Northern League All-star right-handed pitcher, and he was named in Baseball America’s 2007 First Team All-Independent Leagues team.[3] His contract was sold to the Florida Marlins in November of 2007.[4] He started out the 2008 season playing for the AA Carolina Mudcats of the Southern League, and he advanced to the AAA Albuquerque Isotopes of the Pacific Coast League before being sent back down to the Mudcats. He started out the 2009 season playing for the AA Jacksonville Suns of the Southern League, and he advanced to the AAA New Orleans Zephyrs of the Pacific Coast League, but he has been sent back down to the Suns.[5] [edit] References
