[edit] Pegasus crossing in Redmond
I just randomly ran across the article about Pegasus crossings, and remembered the one on Avondale in Redmond. Can anyone get a picture, or a description from a reliable source? I'm a bit out of area these days. :-)--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 03:11, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Norman Bridge
Anyone know anything about the Norman Bridge in North Bend Washington? It's a wooden truss bridge listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and I see a few references to it online, but I suspect it has been demolished some time in the last few years. I went looking for it today, and found a place where I suspect a bridge may recently have been (two "matching" small parking lots on either side of a river just off of 428th Ave. SE), but no bridge. - Jmabel | Talk 06:50, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. Anyone got an old picture for National Register of Historic Places listings in King County, Washington? - Jmabel | Talk 04:38, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Remarkably, we have no article at all about the Green River Trail. - Jmabel | Talk 06:53, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
I've now added a Commons page documenting the northern 15 miles or so of the trail. - Jmabel | Talk 04:36, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
I've now added a short article. - Jmabel | Talk 23:22, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
Any locals able to find any sources on these guys from Spokane? Dunno what they did in a past life but recently there was this and then this. I did find a couple of independent reliable sources but more would be good, plus some commentary on the youtube phenomenon maybe? Casliber (talk · contribs) 12:09, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

There is a Mormon temple in Richland. Should the article belong to this WikiProject? LDS-SPA1000 (talk) 17:51, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- Easy rule of thumb: If something is in/pertains to Washington, the article(if it exists) belongs in this WP and any appropriate subprojects.--Kevmin (talk) 22:46, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] bot request
I have made a request that a bot add our wikiproject banner to all articles within the category Category:Washington (U.S. state) and its sub categories any objections, if there are any I will withdraw the request. --Gold Man60 Talk 02:52, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
- I have withdrawn the request until we mark all the categories that have only washington related articles with {{WikiProject Washington|class=category}} --Gold Man60 Talk 18:16, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] GA Sweeps invitation
This message is being sent to WikiProjects with GAs under their scope. Since August 2007, WikiProject Good Articles has been participating in GA sweeps. The process helps to ensure that articles that have passed a nomination before that date meet the GA criteria. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. Instead of reviewing by topic, editors can consider picking and choosing whichever articles they are interested in.
We are always looking for new members to assist with reviewing the remaining articles, and since this project has GAs under its scope, it would be beneficial if any of its members could review a few articles (perhaps your project's articles). Your project's members are likely to be more knowledgeable about your topic GAs then an outside reviewer. As a result, reviewing your project's articles would improve the quality of the review in ensuring that the article meets your project's concerns on sourcing, content, and guidelines. However, members can also review any other article in the worklist to ensure it meets the GA criteria.
If any members are interested, please visit the GA sweeps page for further details and instructions in initiating a review. If you'd like to join the process, please add your name to the running total page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles from the worklist or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. With ~1,300 articles left to review, we would appreciate any editors that could contribute in helping to uphold the quality of GAs. If you have any questions about the process, reviewing, or need help with a particular article, please contact me or OhanaUnited and we'll be happy to help. --Happy editing! Just pulled this one out of the speedy queue, maybe someone wants to fix it up a bit. Btw, I decline and prod a fair number of speedies, and I always add project tags when I do, which means they'll show up on your project page under "Article Alerts". - Dank (push to talk) 03:29, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
That renaming is really causing a headache, as there must be thousands of articles whose links to the Washington article were broken. I'm probably the only one repairing these links at the moment, and maybe some others could join in this attempt? (The broken link is probably misleading a bunch of visitors to Wikipedia.) Shannon1talk contribs 01:18, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm, interesting... Only the categories were renamed? Shannon1talk contribs 01:19, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
- I think this is one of the few times the argument Administrative Nightmare can be used to oppose an article's move. If this ever happens I'm staying far far far away from it hahaha. --Gold Man60 Talk 18:13, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Ku Klux Klan in Washington State in the 1920s
I ran across this interesting page (with links to several others), part of the Seattle Civil Rights and Labor History Project. Someone may want to use this as the basis of an article. - Jmabel | Talk 22:38, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Creating stubs for state parks that are currently redlinks
Hi all, I'm going to try and add stubs for as many state parks as I can, since currently more than half of them are redlinks at Template:Protected Areas of Washington. To that end, here's some generic edit text I put together to make it easy to put together consistent, generic stubs. Anyone else who wants to work on these should jump right in; we're blessed with a state that has plenty of parks to go around.
Terms in CAPS are my generic reminders that need to be filled in with specific appropriate details. The only two references needed are the GNIS record, which should be easy to search for here and the specific park's Web site, which you can find at the Washington park list (click "Complete Park Information" in the navigation menu, bottom left, to get complete information).
All the information needed for the body, references, and other templates should be on those two sites. Don't miss the latitude and longitude near the bottom or it will display a useless generic message on the new page. I've set it up to use decimal latitude & longitude without compass directions so that they can be easily copied & pasted from the full GNIS record. The references are set up to take advantage of the new WP:LDR. Apologies that the text runs off the screen; I don't know how to make it not do that within the preformatted text tags without adding newlines that would then mess up the layout when new pages are displayed after wiki markup.
Finally, don't forget to add the WikiProject Washington template on the talk page if you create new pages for the parks, as well as checking that old link in the Protected Areas template now links to the new article! Thanks for any help; also, suggestions for improvements would be appreciated.

[edit] Article importance
Does this project have an explanation for how to assess article importance within the project? In other words, how do I know whether to assess article X as "mid" or "low" or "top"? -Rrius (talk) 00:09, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

- I'm surprised and saddened at you Washingtonians for not coming out. Even a vote against is better than nothing. The new Sounders FC task force looks to have more active members than Wikiproject Washington. So since some of you might be or might have been involved in some of our prestigious institutions: Qwest Field requires an image from UW, WSU, WWU, EWU, CWU cheerleaders or guys on the field. Do you have one?Cptnono (talk) 13:14, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
I recently nominated the article for FA review. I wanted to post a notification of that here and invite any of the project members to join in the review and provide feedback. Thanks! --SkotyWATalk|Contribs 17:16, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Picture needed
Greetings all! According to this, Stanwood's new Amtrak station officially opens on November 21, with the first Cascades scheduled to arrive at 9:03 in the morning. If there are any rail-minded folks near Stanwood this would be a great picture-taking opportunity. Allegedly there's a celebration, so maybe there'll be free coffee or something to sweeten the deal. Cheers, Mackensen (talk) 16:09, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
I just created a stub for this vanished people, which was one of the "blank spots" in coverage of NA tribes in Washington, there's more in the cite and blips that should be added to Willapa Bay et al, and there's no Willapa, Washington article. Also missing from NA coverage in Washington is an article for the Chemakum people.Skookum1 (talk) 15:33, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
