For discussion related to music on Wikipedia but not to the project, please use the Music Noticeboard.
[edit] Article alertsThis is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here. If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the Message sent by User:Addbot to all active wiki projects per request, Comments on the message and bot are welcome here. Thanks. — Headbomb {ταλκκοντριβς – WP Physics} 09:14, 15 March, 2009 (UTC) [edit] Hood 2 Hood: The BlockumentaryHi, an article i made is up for deletion. If anyone can help make it notable, it would be greatly appreciated. We have several sources which clarify two different middle names for the artist. There was once a discussion which seemed to land at a consensus of "Ramone" over "Cortez" as one was mostly used by blogs and other non-reliable sources. But now, as he was recently arrested, the debate seems to have sparked again. I am bringing this here for possible help. Thank you. --HELLØ ŦHERE 17:55, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Hip Hop & Hip hop musicSomething desperately needs to be done about there being two articles about such a prominent subject. Right now I would think the best move would be to move Hip hop to Hip hop (cultural movement) or Hip hop culture, and then move Hip hop music to Hip hop, since it is generally thought of as a genre of music first. Any thoughts? Zazaban (talk) 08:28, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Project Members Clean-UpI've noticed that some of the users on the members list are either retired or haven't made edits in the last couple of years, which suggests unofficial retirement from Wikipedia. I was thinking maybe we should leave messages on all the project members talk pages to find out who's still on Wikipedia and who's not. That way we can take users who are no longer editing off the members' list. It would make things such as collaboration or just running the project much easier to know who's still active. Just a theory. Any thoughts? WikiGuy86 (talk) 00:00, 19 November 2009 (UTC) [edit] Redesigning the Project PageWhat do you all think about possibly redesigning the project page? I was thinking about creating a new layout among the lines of the Simpsons WikiProject page. Let me know if we should keep it the way it is or change it. If so, I'll try to get to work on it ASAP. [edit] G-Unit Records.Hello all, I have a question regarding the G-Unit Records page. As it is hip hop, I thought I would bring it here. In an interview, 50 Cent has confirmed that Game is still signed to the label, and must be paid to not use the logo on his releases. A problem with this is that numerous websites have taken this claim and reported it, but there has been no other clarification except this passing comment. On the other hand, we have an MTV article which states that Game was released from the label. Thus, Hip hop people, I am asking, would you all consider 50 a reliable source, even if websites are reporting what he said, or would it be a primary source? --HELLØ ŦHERE 19:38, 5 December 2009 (UTC) [edit] Removal of reviews from the album infoboxThis is a notification of the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums regarding the removal of reviews from the album infobox. The discussion has reached consensus to remove the reviews, though is still accepting further input into the matter. We are especially requiring more discussion on what steps to take next. Your input would be appreciated on what is a matter that will affect a lot of music articles. kiac. (talk-contrib) 09:32, 19 December 2009 (UTC) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
