[edit] Article alerts

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.

If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

[edit] Added links to Companion dog title orphan article

This article was an orphan, so I added links to the AKC website outlining basic info on dog titles. --Momosgarage 23:20, 19 August 2009

[edit] Hypoallergenic dog breed

Can someone check this diff? http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hypoallergenic_dog_breed&diff=313374326&oldid=313373307

Thanks,

Rich Farmbrough, 14:47, 12 September 2009 (UTC).

This edit removes the more moderate and citation- and science-supported language from the previous edit. I believe it greatly reduces the accuracy and validity of this article. It should be reverted to the previous edit. Gnewton (talk) 11:17, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Alsatian Shepalute

I am reviewing this for GA status, but am wondering whether anyone has more independent sourcing.Casliber (talk · contribs) 19:42, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Clussexx Three D Grinchy Glee

Hey all. I started the Clussexx Three D Grinchy Glee site several months back, and I called it that because most articles about Westminster winners used their formal names, rather than their nicknames. (Ex: K-Run's Park Me In First rather than "Uno".) But the more I think about it, the more I feel like Clussexx Three D Grinchy Glee should be called "Stump (dog)" instead. I figure you guys would be the experts, so what do you think? Should it be moved? — Hunter Kahn (c) 01:54, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

I would not change the article name. A reader looking for Stump will hit the Stump disambiguation page, which will direct the reader to Clussexx Three D Grinchy Glee. Using disambiguation paratheses in article titles is generally avoided unless absolutely necessary. Coaster1983 (talk) 01:11, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
I think the best bet is to keep it to the name that is in common usage. Miyagawa (talk) 20:31, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Bindle

I have removed a large gallery of brindle dogs from the brindle article since it affected the flow of the article. I left just a single image of a brindle Akita Inu since the section is too short for more than one image. However, I would like to know if that image best represents brindle dogs. Coaster1983 (talk) 01:00, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Pal (dog actor) Merge to Lassie

A discussion is underway about possible merging the Pal (dog actor) article to Lassie. Three editors feel the merge would be appropriate (though I tend to discount one as they have made no useful edits, and semi-vandalized a few articles), and two feel it should not. Additional views to break this stalemate would be useful. Discussion at Talk:Pal (dog actor)#Merge with Lassie. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 19:00, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Input needed at List of dog breeds

I recently made a section regarding a title change to make the list less vague and to create standards for what breeds should be listed, to decrease the chance of a developing/mixed breed being listed. But, I rather not be so bold with such a change; could people offer their opinions here? WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 14:45, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Temperament test

Temperament testing has been in the news recently,[1] but the article was in a very primitive state (about wolfhound testing in Russia only) and is tagged as low-importance to your project. I did some basic expansion but the article is less than 10% of what it should be. I think that you should reassess the article and add more information about the Assess-A-Hand and SAFER test in the U.S. and how they affect reported rates of euthanasia of "adoptable" dogs and so on. I think that this topic could become very interesting indeed, as an uncommonly honest measure of psychiatric practice. Wnt (talk) 03:56, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Satos (feral dog of Puerto Rico)

The article on Satos has been listed for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Satos. Comments there or improvements to the article by participants in this project would be welcome. -- Eastmain (talk) 00:48, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] CFD (rename request) for Category:Rare breeds

Please review/comment at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2009_November_17#Category:Rare_breeds. 78.107.117.194 (talk) 09:39, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Help updating "Aggression" section in German Shepherd Dog page

I made a request on the GSD page for someone to update the research and perhaps bring a more professional eye to the reference sourcing and phrasing of this section. As written, I think it very seriously and unfairly mischaracterizes the GSD's history of aggressive behavior. Any help would be greatly appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.251.243.83 (talk) 05:27, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
