General Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (GPL) was established in 1987 and produceing many categories of medicine like Drug Acting on GIT, Cardiovascular Drugs, Neurotonics Drugs, Musculosketetal Drugs, Antimicrobial Drugs, Antihistamine Drugs, Psychotroic Drugs, Vitamin & Minerals Drugs, Anti Diabetic Drugs, Anti Cancer & Dermatological drugs. The company's manufacturing facility is located 45 miles from Dhaka in Gazipur, where they produce various types of drug dosage forms such as tablets, capsules, oral liquids, and Rice based ORS.

The company sells its products in Bangladesh and plans to begin exporting to both developed and developing countries around the world. In recent years they has entered into export fields by registering its products in Viet Nam, Kenya, Hong Kong, Macau, Mauritius, Myanmar, Sri Lanka & Maldives. In this connection GPL is also aiming to export their pharmaceutical finished products to other countries of South East Asia, Middle East and Africa and Latin America.
