[edit] Requests for collaboration or help

Here is where Wikipedians can seek help regarding articles or other copy editing issues. Feel free to remove entries from this list once the issue is resolved. Please put new requests at the bottom

[edit] Milan Bandić

This article I've contributed to underwent an unsuccessful GA review several months ago and prose was one of the reasons (I'm not a native speaker of English, although I consider myself a good one). Due to some new improvements by other users, I've decided to go for GA again and I'd like to fix teh spelign & gramer eror's. Admiral Norton (talk) 23:13, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Valkyrie

This article has passed GA, and will be put up as a FAC soon. An experienced copy editor is needed to further enhance the language and style. Skadinaujo (TC) 20:22, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] The Return of Dr. Octagon

Current FA. The article was copyedited during its GA review, but FA reviewers have noticed that further issues remain. (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 15:58, 26 February 2009 (UTC))

[edit] Battle of Triangle Hill

Attampting to pass A-Class review, but since English is not my first language, I need help on copy editing. Jim101 (talk) 03:54, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

  • I've copy-edited the "Background" section. The "Battle" and "Aftermath" sections remain to be done, and the lede could stand a look. It's a good article. — ℜob C. alias ᴀʟᴀʀoʙ 19:05, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Eastwood, Nottinghamshire

I need help with prose/flow etc; I've tried for FA, the facts are just about up to the mark, but there's too many choppy short sentences. I'm struggling to get that final polish on the article. --  Chzz  ►  10:12, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

okay, I went through and had a look. It's still very choppy, but to get over that FA-bump, I think it needs some organizational work. You've got all the stuff there, it' has a sort of chopped together feel. How far do you want me to take this, and how do you want to handle it? --Auntieruth55 (talk) 21:02, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Friday the 13th (franchise)

I put this article through FAC, but it was closed after 4 days with several editors not returning to comment. I had recently done a full article copy edit, but one editor believes "there are too many problems still", but he's vague and doesn't want to provide examples. I would really love some third-party assistance to come in and see everything I've supposedly missed.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 12:27, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Millennium '73

The aricle failed a previous FAC largely due to complaints about the copyediting.[1] Help would be appreciated.   Will Beback  talk  22:29, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

  • This article now has Featured Article class ! :-) thisisace (talk) 22:19, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Falko Traber (second request)

I don't see any WikiProject covering this article, or I'd ask them to spiff it up. Can WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors do anything with it? Thanks.
Later (second request): I posted this request here 07:08, 11 April 2009. User:Skomorokh deleted it 09:59, 11 April 2009 with the note "Falko Traber addressed".
IMHO article has not been adequately addressed and still needs copyediting. Please don't delete this post until article has been copyedited. Thanks. -- 201.37.230.43 (talk) 17:49, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

As a separate party, may I ask why you feel this? Judging by the edits, Skomorokh has done all that can be done to the limited prose in the article. Skomorokh is doing this in his own time, and it's generally considered polite to state what issues you have rather than state you're just unhappy with his work. Perhaps you expect him to provide sources for you? Rehevkor 01:54, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] World War Z

Article just recently passed a GA review, now I'm preparing the article to be a Featured class article. GA reviewer suggested that I get the article peer reviewed before attempting that. If anyone could review the article that would be greatly appreciated. Zombie Hunter Smurf (talk) 15:41, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Midshipman

Going through its A-review, one reviewer requested a copy edit, specifically for the Other Countries section. It needs another set of eyes, let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! Kirk (talk) 16:01, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

I've had a pop at this. Let me know if you think it needs more. Gonzonoir (talk) 13:18, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Seleucus I Nicator

I re-wrote the article based on the Finnish version (FA), but the level of English is probably lacking. Could someone look it through? Thank you for your help. Mvaldemar (talk) 18:45, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

The article is currently undergoing a Peer review, and some further work will be done before it's taken off to FA. Editors have suggested copyediting. Thanks, EclipseSSD (talk) 14:54, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

  • Peer review has closed. Some copyediting would really be appreciated, as I'm thinking of taking it to FAC soon. --TaerkastUA (talk) 13:20, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] List of Case Closed episodes (season 1)

Hi, I was told this article needs alot of copy editing, and would appreciate some help. Thanks. DragonZero (talk) 19:18, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Gulfton, Houston

Hi! I would like to make this a Featured Article. I was told it needs some copyediting. Would anyone mind checking it out? Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 20:42, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Symbolism

This article needs serious help, as it is almost completely devoid of wikification. Sources are missing, and for a while it did not even have a complete opening sentence. Thanks to anyone with the patience to do this. -moritheilTalk 01:23, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Ice hockey at the Olympic Games

I'd like to try to have this page to FAC by the end of the month. Content-wise, I believe it is ready, but the language is rather simplistic and repetitive at times, so it definitely needs a copyedit. Thanks a lot, Scorpion0422 18:52, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Hawaii hotspot

Currently on GA nom, and I'm planning an eventual FA after a Peer Review sometime in the future. I'm a crappy writer, I admit it, and it needs a good copyeditor's attention. ResMar 23:12, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] No Line on the Horizon

Currently a GA, though I would like to bring it to FA someday. One of the comments in the GA review was that the prose could do with some improvement. A fresh set of eyes in this would be very helpful in the push to FA. MelicansMatkin (talk) 23:12, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Oregon Shakespeare Festival

Following up on a really old request that I removed after the former, rather Byzantine, request system was discontinued. Anyway, I would copyedit this myself, but I found myself in conflict with a COI editor and would prefer a neutral third party do the copyediting. It's possible that quite a few wikilinks could be added as well. See the article's talk page for more discussion. Thanks! Katr67 (talk) 16:36, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Economic history of China (Pre-1911)

Huge article with lots of information, would like it to go on GA sometime. Can you guys help look over it? thanks.Teeninvestor (talk) 23:21, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] List of helicopter prison escapes

This almost made FAL but was held back because of bad grammar, inconsistency, etc. Needs a good copyedit to whip it into shape! I'd do it but most of the problems on the page are probably caused by me. Me no good at english -- Esemono (talk) 06:38, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Working on it as we speak. Murgon (talk) 13:55, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:RevisionDelete

The policy is going to be presented to the community soon enough, but I am a hopeless prose-writer. Would someone be able to copyedit it to a good standard? Nothing particular needed (that I can see), just a general all-round affair. Much appreciated. ~fl 01:11, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Bart Sells His Soul

Bart Sells His Soul - This article is currently undergoing a GA review, at Talk:Bart Sells His Soul/GA1. Additional help with copyediting would be much appreciated. Thank you, Cirt (talk) 21:18, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] The Day the Earth Stood Still

I want to nominate this article to be an FA but some changes were made during the peer review so I wanted to make sure the article was still well written. Thanks! --Peppagetlk 00:59, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Blunt trauma personal protective equipment

There are some stylistic issues, and the article could use a general copyedit to be more generally compliant with the Wikipedia Manual of Style. Some issues: include inappropriate use of bolding and of capitalization and general grammar issues. If you are having trouble in this regard, you could contact someone at the Guild of Copy Editors.

[edit] Ralph Bakshi

Hello. I'm working on the FAC Ralph Bakshi, and some reviewers have suggested that the prose needs work. Do you have time to take a look at the article? Thanks in advance! (Ibaranoff24 (talk) 17:45, 15 May 2009 (UTC))

[edit] USS Constitution

This article was promoted to FA in November 2008 but I've never been entirely satisfied with some of the flow in the article. I wrote the majority of the current article and I'm slowly finding more things to rework but it would be nice to have an uninvolved pair of eyes to look over the article. Please comment on the article talk page if you have any concerns; thanks. --Brad (talk) 21:45, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Decapitated (band) and Cephalic Carnage (short articles)

Greetings. I overhauled these articles and made them considerable more informative and fully referenced with reliable sources. It would really help if someone with better knowledge of English than me would copy edit them - they are both pretty short. Have a nice day!--  LYKANTROP  12:50, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm on it. OK, I think clearing up how old each band member was in 1996 will help because the first graf mentions an average age of 12. Later on, though, there is an ambiguous non-essential phrase that seems to suggest two members were 12. Fdssdf 03:31, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Finished looking it over. Wacław Kiełtyka's name is misspelled (with special characters) in the "Band members" section. I didn't fix it because I have no idea what the commands are for those characters. Also in the "Band members" section, consider getting rid of the extra information, (also played with etc.) and move that information up higher so we don't clutter the tiny section with words we can put in actual body paragraphs. Not much wrong with the article as a whole. All my fixes were minor stuff. Fdssdf 04:16, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
I will look at the other article tomorrow some time ... Fdssdf 04:22, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Thank you a lot for doing this! I think I addressed those issues.--  LYKANTROP  12:58, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Are Scrape My Lungs and Fortuitous Oddity demo songs or demo albums? It's a bit ambiguous at the moment because people think of a demo as one song, but the titles are italicized, which connotes an album. Fdssdf 04:28, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
Done. Confirm those two songs/albums are one of them and use the phrase "demo album" or "demo song" just to completely eliminate confusion. There is one sentence in the Anomalies etc section that is long because I combined a couple sentences. If you think it's too long, pare it down at will. Most of my changes were, again, very minor. Fdssdf 05:25, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks a lot. It's done now.--  LYKANTROP  11:00, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Food waste in the United Kingdom

I am going to submit this for FAC shortly, so I was hoping some keen eyes could skim over the text and give a consensus. It shouldn't require too much work, I think the prose is relatively consistent and adequate, however I know what FAC is like! Thanks in advance. MasterOfHisOwnDomain (talk) 10:55, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Siege of Lal Masjid

Needs some copyediting.yousaf465'

[edit] Territorial changes of Poland

Working on it becoming a Featured list one day but to get there the article needs a good copyedit from a skilled copy editor of the Guild! Anyone lovers of history out there want to give it a go? -- Esemono (talk) 04:16, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

I'll start working on it this Tuesday. Any help from fellow guild members is greatly appreciated. AVandtalkcontribs 22:34, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
I'm not sure I'll have the time to copy edit this, but I just saw the article, and there seems to be way too much white space. I know those maps are causing the problem, but it's the most bizarre body-image relationship I've ever seen in an article. I don't even know how to begin lessening the white space, but I just wanted to bring it up, even though I'm sure it's apparent to anyone who sees it. Fdssdf 15:47, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Harold Pinter

This is a substantial article, but it seems over-written and seems to overuse quotations. Any help would be appreciated! -- Ssilvers (talk) 14:39, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm going to start on it a little, but I will not be able to finish. Anyone can feel free to jump in at any time.--Esprit15d • talkcontribs 15:58, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Crash Bandicoot (character)

This article recently failed a Good Article nomination, and the reviewer suggested that I get another editor to copy edit the page to smooth things out, so I came here. Any takers? [[User:Cat's Tuxedo|]] (talk) 15:42, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

I'll take a peek. Fdssdf (talk) 22:05, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
In the "Plot Overview" section, there is mention of "NV", but I don't see any explanation for what this stands for. Also I was de-capitalizing "crystals" in some places, but I also saw the word "mojo" and "power gems" capitalized. I'm going to leave the rest of these capitalized unless you think they shouldn't be, Tuxedo. I did change some in the early grafs. Fdssdf (talk) 22:27, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
OK, I finished looking it over. Tuxedo, take a look at the capitalization stuff, and decide whether or not those words deserve their capitalization. And the "NV" thing should be explained, as well. Other than that, it was pretty clean.Fdssdf (talk) 22:42, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
NV doesn't stand for anything. And most if not all those things are capitalized in the manuals and games in the series, so I'll fix those right now. [[User:Cat's Tuxedo|]] (talk) 23:26, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] School Rumble

The article is current C-class, but very close to B-class. I plan to a GAN for this once the peer review is over and copy editing issues are dealt with.Jinnai 04:09, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest

It's sitting in FAC right now with a 1a objection. I've passed 5 Featured Articles in the past, and my writing care has improved enough that I can say without arrogance or doubt that the article is in pretty damn good condition already; I gave it two years of fresh eyes and performed other copyediting techniques on it. Nonetheless, I need some help to push it over the edge, and none of my friends, my contacts, or even Quest fans I know are interested in helping. I'll repay the favor to anyone who helps, as I'd love to get this passed in time for a request for Today's Featured Article on August 26th, the show premiere's anniversary. ZeaLitY [ DREAM - REFLECT ] 07:39, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Vampyr

Vampyr is an article I have worked on, but it was recently just tagged for needing some copy-editing. I've already nominated it for a GA review, so if someone could go through it, to clean it up, I'd find it very helpful. Cheers! Andrzejbanas (talk) 14:04, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] History of the family

I am trying my best to correct the English grammatical mistakes on the page I'm working on ---but English is my second language so this task is impossible. Could I please count on someone going over and removing all the extra "the" or insert them when they need to be, please:) Plus any other grammar and syntax corrections they need to be made, Thanks so much.Koliber (talk) 17:40, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] List of international cricket centuries by Virender Sehwag

Thank you for help on my previous article; its on its way to being a featured list. I'd be grateful if someone could look over the lead and sort out the clunky grammar. Thanks again Abeer.ag (talk) 19:38, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Get Away From My Mom

I'll be trying this article out for GA status soon but know it is in dire need of a copyedit. If someone can fix it it'd be a real help! The Flash {talk} 02:53, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] List of schools in Nepal

This article should be edited for spelling, capitalization, style and some general edits. Pretty interesting to edit but I need more people to help me, to remove nonexistent links and nonsensical entries. Please collaborate with me on this project.--Shane291 (talk) 06:05, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] The Embalmer

This article needs a copyedit in order to achieve the B-class criteria; if someone could do that, it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks, WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 23:31, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Korean Air Lines Flight 007

The article has been through a series of reviews, and is currently at GA. However I feel the language and grammar will need further cleaning up before its next attempt at FA. Any help would be appreciated, even if it's only a section or two. Thank you. Socrates2008 (Talk) 21:27, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] British Birds Rarities Committee

This article is currently at FAC, and has been identified as needing a copyedit. Is there anyone who would be able to help out with this? SP-KP (talk) 18:08, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Prediction of the United States collapse in 2010

This article would have passed a GA nomination if not for its prose. It was written mostly by a non-native English speaker, so there are problems with grammatical articles and syntax. A pleasure to read, if not to edit. The Homosexualist (talk) 20:07, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

  • Even the title is poor English. It needs a move at least, if not a deletion. — ℜob C. alias ᴀʟᴀʀoʙ 19:22, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Severe weather

Aloha! The WP:ACID article at the present, Severe weather, is in need of some major copyediting...spelling, grammar, punctuation, the whole works. When someone gets some spare time, it would be a great help if they could please do a copyedit of the article. Thanks much, Ks0stm (TC) 03:49, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

The article is currently waiting on this copyedit before we send it to GAN. Ks0stm (TC) 11:29, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] The X-Files

[edit] Eurostar

This article is about the International train service between London, Paris, and Brussels. I have made massive improvements to the article over the last few months, a really strong referencing system now exists, but it really needs the eyes of someone else. A recent Peer Review also recommended the need for a copy-edit, and this seems to be the community in which it can be conducted. A good copy-edit is needed if it is to go further from being a GA, which was recently awarded, to the status of FA, which I hope to motivate the article towards. The effort would be appreciated, and I'd be eager to hear the improvements that are put forward to bring it into a refined product. Kyteto (talk) 13:36, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Joey Hamilton

The article is already a good article but a recent FAC failed mainly because of copyediting related problems. A copyedit would really help this article out and possibly FA eventually.--Giants27 (c|s) 02:36, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Necrid

Article I've been working on for quite a while that's been nominated for FAC more than once and bombed due to prose issues. I would like to give it one last shot at the process after checking through everything twice myself, and a solid copyedit would definitely help in that regard and improve it. Kung Fu Man (talk) 15:15, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Boys in Red accident

This article has gone through two peer reviews and both have found that a decent copy edit will probably get this article up to the point it needs to be to face FAC. Disaster article that's not arduously long and should be relatively easy to understand even with no prior knowledge of the subject. Any help much appreciated! Thanks, --Kuzwa (talk) 02:41, 19 August 2009 (UTC).

Never mind, someone I know in real life took a look at it and gave me all the improvements probably needed. Will go for FAC shortly and if it fails I will come back. :) --Kuzwa (talk) 03:03, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Alas it never ends! This article is currently going through the FAC procedure and is very close to passing though most people who have looked at it thus far thinks it needs a look at from an experienced copy editor. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. :) --Kuzwa (talk) 00:36, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Codex Vaticanus

Currently undergoing a GA review, but has a primary editor who does not speak English natively. As such, there are a number of awkward phrasings and a simple run-through over the next week or so should help improve the article greatly. Jclemens (talk) 02:43, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] IronKey

I've been working on this article for a while to get enough solid information for it to be notable, and have just moved it from my User page to live namespace, but I feel it could do with another set of eyes to give it a copy edit to just finish it off properly. Thanks! — EndarethTalkEdits 05:41, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

  • Is copy-editing still a concern? From a cursory overview, this seems to be one of the better company articles I've read, free from fluff and self-promotion. Good job, I'd say. — ℜob C. alias ᴀʟᴀʀoʙ 19:21, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Louis H. Carpenter

The article has passed GA status. An A-Class review states it needs copy-editing to get it to A/FA status. From reading some comments in the review it is mainly on short paragraphs and elements of prose. One example given is comma use. I spent time overseas and the English has conflicted with my American, not to say anything of the influence of two other languages. Any help would be really appreciated! Yes check.svgY Done Thank You! Jrcrin001 (talk) 05:50, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Years of lead (Italy)

This article has several problems, both in the organisation of the text and in the non-native English in which it is written. Could some patient copy editor have a look at it? Thanks! Goochelaar (talk) 08:07, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

  • This article has much more severe problems than a need for copy-editing, as the templates posted at the top indicate. It would be good for someone who reads Italian to compare it with the much better article at Italian Wikipedia (thru the interwiki link. IIRC there are also Spanish and Basque articles. Anyway a major overhaul is needed. — ℜob C. alias ᴀʟᴀʀoʙ 19:10, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Byzantine civil war of 1341–1347

This article is underwent an unsuccessful FAC, and it has been suggested that a thorough copyedit is needed. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Constantine 09:24, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Individualist anarchism in Europe

An article written primarily by non-English speakers, needs someone to have a look over to improve flow and clarity. I am willing to trade a copyedit of your article, so don't be shy . Skomorokh  08:02, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Klis Fortress

This article needs a copyedit in order to achieve the B-class criteria; if someone could do that, it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks. --Kebeta (talk) 12:18, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] RuneScape

I want to nominate for GA again, but it was previously quick-failed for an unreliable source, and copyediting was another issue brought up at the GAN. Unionhawk Talk E-mail 01:41, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

Speaking as someone who edits the article regularly, the article was brought up for having "choppy prose" during the review. Since User:Mario777Zelda didn't seem to find anything specific, I wanted to note this for anyone looking at it. 1ForTheMoney (talk) 18:38, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Sassanid Empire

I want to nominate it for FA, and it needs some copyediting done. warrior4321 16:51, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Real life (reality)

The article is generally unencyclopedic in tone and content. My specific concerns are outlined on the talk page. I did some preliminary work, but it could definitely use the help of someone better than me. —RobinHood70 (talkcontribs) 20:01, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

It's a rather bizarre entry, but has survived two requests for deletion and seems to be here to stay. Appears to need a complete rewrite by someone with a broad-minded philosophical bent — but also a comfortable grounding in (heh) real life. — ℜob C. alias ᴀʟᴀʀoʙ 19:19, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Interactions (The Spectacular Spider-Man)

I want to get this peer reviewed before I go for an FAC, so it'd be fantastic if someone could copyedit it as soon as they can. Thanks! The Flash {talk} 03:30, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure

The article is very close to being passed as a Good Article, and the reviewer suggested that the page go through a quick, professional copy-edit to spruce up the prose. Also, the quotes in the "Reception" section need paraphrasing, apparently. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 05:20, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Islamabad

I am working on this article to make it FA, would love some help in fixing and copy editing. Regards. Samar (Talk . Contributions) 17:26, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Luca Zaia

This article about an Italian minister is a mess, and I am not WP:BOLD enough to have a go at it... Goochelaar (talk) 17:33, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Nafaanra

The article is currently at FAR, and has been there for quite a while, but the only active issue appears to be the prose. Tony made some pointers which I attempted to fix, but I could really use some copyediting assistance for the rest of the article since I have my plate full of both IRL concerns and other wiki commitments. The article is one of very few FAs on both a Sub-Saharan African topic and a language, so I think it would be very good to help keep it on that list. Peter Isotalo 06:55, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (second request)

The article is undergoing A-class review, and needs copyediting for tone and other grammatical issues. 'Editing would be appreciated. TaerkastUA (Talk) 19:46, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Trustive Company Description Page

I'm trying to create a company description page for Trustive Ltd. Fabrictramp has been very helpful so far re. turning my first attempts from pr prose to a factual description. Would some-one from the guild be able to take a look and give me some feedback so that I can get the page put back up online ASAP? the page is currently viewable at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Oldfieldev/Trustive. Your feedback would be most appreciated. Oldfieldev (talk) 09:41, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

Okay, I've done some preliminary copy-editing on it. Double-check that I took the correct interpretation of NOC, as I wasn't 100% sure if that was the NOC you meant or not. Also, it seriously reads like an ad from Trustive's marketing department—it would benefit further from having someone go over it to "tone it down". —RobinHood70 (talkcontribs) 19:26, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
Thank you so much for taking the time to check through the article for me. I've tried to tone it down even more, by removing some of the pr-type language and am sure that this final version is a good source of basic information about the company, it's origins and goals. At least that's what I've tried to do ;-) Please could you tell me how I can go about putting it back on line now?
Thanks again.Oldfieldev (talk) 09:43, 08 October 2009 (UTC)
Happy to have helped with the copy-editing. As far as I know, you should just be able to copy and paste it to the Trustive page. Since it was previously deleted for being too commercial, post a message to the talk page as soon as you're done with the main page, indicating that this is a second attempt and that you've had help toning it down. I'll watch the page and try to encourage people to help tone it down further if it's felt that's needed, rather than outright deleting it again. —RobinHood70 (talkcontribs) 09:43, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
Page re-posted and talk page created as you suggested. Hope that it's ok now ;-) Thank you for your help once again.Oldfieldev (talk) 13:09, 08 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Bonar Law

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom - I recently expanded his article, but I'd dearly like to get it to GA and (possibly) FA. Ideally I'm looking for someone who can 1) copyedit my awful prose but 2) and more importantly, take a knife to it. The article is going to be far, far too long otherwise. [edit] Madeline Davis

This article has been sitting on the bottom of the backlog for a long time. I've just tweaked it a bit, but I don't feel particularly excellent about the results. I'd appreciate a second set of eyes giving it a look. --Moralis (talk) 00:00, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

I did some work on this article in October and removed the copy edit tag, but it could still use a look-see by someone with first hand knowledge of the subject matter.--Diannaa (talk) 21:29, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Jamaica College

Hello - I need assistance in 'wikifying' this article. I have read through the WP:MOS article and have made several attempts at editing. Note that there is more information to be added. If you can, point out where there may be weak sections as well so that I may know what to look out for during my research. Give a look and let me know on the article's talk page what is required, thanks! X01 (talk) 03:34, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] The X-Files (film)

This article is a mess of errors in spelling, formatting, and grammar. It could use some TLC from an eagle-eyed editor. 76.105.239.34 (talk) 03:44, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] List of National Treasures of Japan (paintings)

I am preparing this list for WP:FLC. It still needs a little bit of copy-editing: 1. use convert templates to convert all measures in the "Format" column. 2. Remove "." for non-sentences (mainly in "Remarks" and "Format" columns). 3. Add alt text to images. 4. Search for more pictures (basically any image can be used with the PD-Art tag). It would be great to get some help with any of these tasks. bamse (talk) 20:56, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Star Wars sequel trilogy

Hoping for the article to become a GA one day, just needs a bit of copyediting for tone and grammar. Would be appreciated. Thanks, TaerkastUA (Talk) 20:27, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] John Kourkouas

The article is undergoing an A-class review and a run-through for copyedits has been suggested. Thanks in advance, Constantine 08:47, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate

Comments at the last FAC mentioned prose issues; an independent copyedit would be much appreciated. Thanks! –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 20:56, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Saint Basil's Cathedral

A recent rewrite needs attention to grammar, but also overall flow and continuity of text. Thanks in advance, NVO (talk) 05:00, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Heraclius

For any history lovers out there espically, byzantine or Islamic history the Heraclius article just had a major retooling and needs a skilled editor to whip the article into shape. -- Esemono (talk) 06:33, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] The Invisible Hand (The Spectacular Spider-Man)

This article has recently passed GAR; I hope to bring it up at FAC in a week or two, but really would like it to be copyedited so it's at the highest quality it can be. Thanks, The Flash {talk} 14:55, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Henry Allingham

Article has passed GA, would like to bring it to FA in the longer term and I feel that it would benifit from attention by GoCE members. Mjroots (talk) 15:31, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Battle of the Plains of Abraham

I wrote the French article on the Battle of the Plains of Abraham in the francophone Wikipedia (see fr:Bataille des Plaines d'Abraham) and translated it to English myself (see User:Mathieugp/drafts/Battle of the Plains of Abraham. This draft translation needs two things: 1) translation proofreading to hunt down Gallicisms and 2) general copy-editing.

Merci! / Thanks! -- Mathieugp (talk) 15:27, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

Someone has already copy-edited my draft article. Case closed. :-) -- Mathieugp (talk) 15:53, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Nicholas Mayall

This article can probably be made a Featured Article, but it needs help from a good copy editor first. Thanks. WilliamKF (talk) 03:36, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Lordi

The prose on this article was never the best, but it was recently rewritten by a non-English speaker and needs major work. A complete copyediting overhaul is required. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 10:26, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Community of Practice

Trying to move the Community of Practice page up from stub-class. It has come quite far quality and content wise, but it still has a buzzwords flag. We, myself and my collaborators could use some help. Thanks.

[edit] Caleb Pusey

I used a picture, with text and image, within this Caleb Pusey article to tell part of a story.

Another editor objected 1) that the picture, with text, was repeated in 3 articles (The other two are Atwater Kent Museum of Philadelphia and Samuel Carpenter) and this was inappropriate. 2) Another point the editor brought up was that pictures with text for the article should never be part of the Wiki article. The editor regulated this picture, with text, - at best- to a smaller picture version that is unreadable off to the side of the article.

At one point, I was just going to crop the image of the weather vane, but the original story with the text in the picture was better than a quote in the article and a picture of just the weather vane.

I felt the picture, with text, was appropriate as I first formatted. Maybe I am wrong?

The other editor suggested I ask more experienced editors before reverting. I thought that was a good idea and that is why I am here.

Any input or directions to Wiki policy, format, etc would be appreciated. Jrcrin001 (talk) 17:13, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

The section used to look like this ...

The "Weather Vane"

In the Annals of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania by John F. Watson it describes in Chapter 7, "The Landing at Penn at Chester." In the late 1840s, from the bottom of Chester Creek was found a "an iron vane of that mill, curiously wrought into letters and dates." The following picture is direct from page 25 of the Samuel Carpenter book of 1912. The "He" described is William Penn.

The story of the Weather Vane from the Samuel Carpenter 1912 book by General Louis H. Carpenter.
The Caleb Pusey house was started about 1682 and completed in 1696

The initials express the original partners, to wit: William Penn, Samuel Carpenter, and Caleb Pusey when the mill was rebuilt. This "Weather Vane" was kept for some years before it was donated to the Philadelphia Historical Society. At one point it was "gilded" and spent years on a roof in Harrisburg. Then it was given to the Atwater Kent Museum of Philadelphia. This historical artifact is occasionally on display. Efforts over the years to return or loan this item to "Caleb Pusey House and Landingford Plantation" which is adjacent to the old mill site is pending.[1]
