WikiProject Bluegrass Region began on September 13, 2006 to coordinate work and expand coverage of the central Bluegrass region of Kentucky.

Anyone who is interested in contributing, please sign up below and discuss any ideas/suggestions or leave comments on the talk page. If you feel that any articles need attention or need some TLC, please feel free to add them to the tasks section below.

This WikiProject aims to coordinate development of and improvements to articles related to the central Bluegrass region of central Kentucky.

This includes, but is not limited to the counties of:

• Bourbon
• Clark
• Fayette
• Franklin
• Harrison
• Jessamine
• Madison
• Montgomery
• Scott
• Woodford

This also includes, but again is not limited to the cities of:

• Cynthiana
• Frankfort
• Georgetown
• Lexington
• Mt. Sterling
• Nicholasville
• Paris
• Richmond
• Somerset
• Versailles
• Winchester
• Midway

Others Kentucky counties in the extended Bluegrass region include:

• Boyle
• Mercer

Others Kentucky cities in the extended Bluegrass region include:

• Danville
• Harrodsburg

The project is aimed at improving the articles regarding those within the project's scope, and to create new articles for related subjects that are not in existance as of yet.

This project is open to anyone.

• Lexington, Kentucky - Culture: Needs expanding or tabalising similar to what I did for Huntington, West Virginia.
• Anything under Historical structures/museums. Is the Martin Castle the castle on US 60 or is this something totally different? If so, I can provide some info on that...
• Charles T. Wethington, Jr., former President of the University of Kentucky
• Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government
• Lexington Chamber of Commerce
• List of mayors of Lexington, Kentucky
• Various colleges/organizations and buildings from the University of Kentucky & Buildings at the University of Kentucky articles
• Various stations from the Media of Lexington, Kentucky article
• Woodford County Board of Education or similar article

[edit] Specific needs

• Expand upon the Economy of Lexington, Kentucky by adding post-1950 relevant material.
• Rewrite Kentucky Wildcats, as it has weasel words and has inapproperiate tone throughout.
• Watch Drew Curtis for vandalism. It needs expanding but I can't find much relevant information.
• Expanded upon Kentucky Horse Park but needs further work.
• Lexington Center is lacking. I created it today but I need to spend more time at the library. There is a ton of info there...
• Expand Mitch Barnhart -- I've started a basic page. Has a citation, references, but could use more content (e.g. notable hires, etc).

These needs were copied to the kentucky.wikia (Kentuckypedia) to an article: Lexington_Area_Metropolitan_Planning_Organization. Please recipricate.

• Added Cityscape of Lexington, Kentucky and Kincaid Towers today. I plan on doing more additions soon.
  • Rapidly expanded the Cityscape page with many new entries for other notable structures. I plan on adding information regarding others, and take more photographs, within the next week. Seicer (talk) (contribs) 20:51, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
