[edit] Table within a scrollbox?
Resolved. Cureden 13:14, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
I have a scrollbox on my userpage, and I would like to replace the contents with a table. Is this possible? This is an example of what I've tried:
{{scrollbox|height=50px|text= {| class="wikitable" |- ! Header 1 ! Header 2 |- | cell 1.1 | cell 1.2 |- | cell 2.1 | cell 2.2 |} }} but all I get is:
Is it possible to embed a table in a scrollbox? Thanks. --Bruce1eetalk 08:26, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, I've since done away with the scrollboxes on my userpage altogether, but I'd still like to know if a table can be embedded in a scrollbox. --Bruce1eetalk 11:25, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- There is another way to make a scrollbox by using <div> tags instead of the {{scrollbox}} template (see Wikipedia:User_page_design_center/Style#Scroll_boxes) and that does work.
| header 1 | header 2 | header 3 |
| row 1, cell 1 | row 1, cell 2 | row 1, cell 3 |
| row 2, cell 1 | row 2, cell 2 | row 2, cell 3 |

- This style of scrollbox comes up the same as the other, as far as I know. Cureden 13:21, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you. I'll file this away for future reference. BTW I saw the "Scroll boxes" section in Wikipedia:User page design center/Style, but I just assumed it used {{scrollbox}}. I should have looked at the code! --Bruce1eetalk 14:42, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Alignment
I need help with the alingment of my user page can some one please help me. to see the problem go to my user page--Dcheagle (talk) 23:14, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- I think I fixed it by adding two <br/> tags. Cureden 15:22, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Its still not alinging right but its nearly fixed.--Dcheagle (talk) 20:05, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

- These symbols seemed to do the trick in place of the two break tags: {{-}} GeorgeLouis (talk) 20:58, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Thank you that fixed the problem.--Dcheagle (talk) 22:51, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Wha' hoppen?
What happened to my Talk Page? I tried to make a new User Page (the old one had no content), and now my old Talk Page is gone. Yours in puzzlement, GeorgeLouis (talk) 07:42, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- Your user page redirects to your talk page, so when you clicked on your userpage, it brought you to your talk page, which you then blanked. I've deleted the redirect and restored your talk page. ;) Cureden 12:52, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Cool. How did that Redirect occur? GeorgeLouis (talk) 14:19, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- Looking at the page history, it was redirected in 2006. I have no idea why. :D Cureden 14:36, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Well, thanks for checking. GeorgeLouis (talk) 17:25, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Delete User subpages
Can you help me about how can request to delete all my subpages see here, thanks.--KSAconnect 18:33, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- Paste the coding
{{db-g1}} on each page. That'll put the template {{db-g1}} on them, and an admin will come along shortly to delete them. Cureden 18:42, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Mysterious font size problem
I am trying to make the font size in the userboxes on my userpage draft look like those on my actual userpage. Myself and others have tried and tried to figure out what is setting the size of the font but we can't seem to work it out. How can I make them the same? —Sean Whitton / 20:35, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Current time?
I'm trying to get my user talk page to display the current time, as it is to me, which is UTC -6 year round. I've tried {{Utc | -6}} which works fine, but doesn't update, and I can't find anything else which works. {{Time}} has a CST time zone, but it automatically adds daylight saving time. Help? orangefreak33 17:49, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- It'll update, but only if the page cache is updated. I have the same issue by the way. Nja247 09:13, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- So how often is the page cache updated? orangefreak33 15:28, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- It's a browser setting as far as I'm aware. Nja247 16:13, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, it appears to be working (ish) now...I'm not sure what I had before, but I came back the next day and it still had the same day's time! orangefreak33 18:43, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Userbox
I was experiment with customization, and I ran into a small issue: Userboxes. As you can see by my user page, I managed to jury-rig a box. Does anyone know how to add more fields that display? Linuxzarth (R) 00:04, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
I have to say I'd really like to know, too. I've been trying to find a guide to userboxes for the last hour or so. A month or so ago I saw a user's page where he even had his nationality in his userbox. I'd really love to know how to do that. I think it would be awesome if someone could create a guide to userboxes, and all of the elements that can be used in them.

- Hi. There is a guide at WP:Userboxes that I think might help you, it has a section on creating new userboxes along with a fair amount of other information. Vancouver Outlaw (Speak) 23:38, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
[edit] How to create category page in my userspace
I would like to try to use a modified sort key to create the following category page in my userspace "wildfires in california with modified sort key" Is this the way I should do it: To start a page called "User:Mfstelmach:category:wildfires in california with modified sort key", type in the box below. When you are done, preview the page to check for errors and then save it. I wanted to ask before I tried creating it. The following category already exists "Wildfires in California" Thanks, Mfstelmach (talk) 20:50, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
- You can't, and since category pages are intended for administrative and organizational purposes only, you're not allowed to. ResMar 14:25, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Userbox creation displays the wrong user
I logged in securely (https) and tried to create my first userbox but the namespace displays 'User:Java7837/userboxing/', a banned user. How is this possible?Ineuw (talk) 01:50, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- Dunno. Try clearing your cache. You logged onto the secure server? Maybe it has something to do with that. Try logging on regularly. ResMar 14:23, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Confirmed User
Hi. Can an admin please make me a confirmed user, so that I can upload a couple of fair use pix (that can be uploaded to wp, but not wiki commons)? This is time sensitive, as it relates to a band that is up for an 2009 MTV Video Music Award in a few days. Many thanks.--VMAsNYC (talk) 07:11, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- Um, first of all this page is for userpage technical questions, not administrative stuff. For that go to the Administrator's Notice Board. Second of all getting autoconfirmed in impossible to duplicate so an admin can't help you there. You just have to edit until you get confirmed. ResMar 13:35, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- The correct place to go is not WP:AN but WP:RFPERM. Secondly, it is possible to duplicate the autoconfirmed permission (this is called confirmed) but it is rarely granted. All you really have to do is make 10 edits (wherever), and wait four days to become autoconfirmed. Intelligentsium 23:40, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
- Do I look like someone interested in administration here? ResMar 03:23, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
