[edit] Metaphysics

  • A Course in Light - it has a long history originating in the 1970's and first published in 1972 by Az Reality Publishers.
  • Ian Lungold (speaker about the Mayan calendar). Given the accuracy of his predictions about the 2008 financial crisis, I think his biography and the rest of his ideas will become much more important if they are dispersed.
  • Pluralistic idealism
  • Downward causation
  • Ontological priority
  • Ebionite Restoration Movement Perhaps the topic would be better suited for religion but I saw no topic subject. Seems this is as pertinent to learn about as any other ideas that are currently circulating in religion and philosophy.
  • Earth Star Chakra I could not find a subject heading for energy systems, so I leave this here. The Earth Star is the level at which the living soul communicates or connects with the Earth Mother, not to be confused with nature.
  • Proliferation Theory See "proliferation hypothesis" as an alternative to evolution through natural selection (on page 298 in "Microbial Ecology: An Evolutionary Approach" by J Vaun McArthur 2006 Academic Press.

[edit] Requested articles of debatable appropriateness

[edit] General - debatable requests

  • Abomunists - Not a notable philosophical theory, school, etc. More of a poetic philosophical take on the world. Anarchia 21:32, 18 August 2007
  • Bihvhar [www.bihvhar.com] As far as I can work out this is a new age-ish movement spread through blogs facebook etc. Not suitable of WikiProject philosophy
  • Cartesian soul - I see no need for an article on this given the information on dualism, Descartes and souls already in Wikipedia.
  • Carnism - Earlier article was deleted through AfD process. Anarchia 21:32, 18 August 2007
  • Greg Ehmka Self help courses.
  • Lynn Grabhorn Self help book writer, not philosopher
  • Shane Mercer (New Zealand philosopher) - Never heard of him, and I am a NZ philosopher.
  • Richard J. Rolwing Catholic social scientist/author. I assume that it is "Rowling" rather than "Rowling". I couldn't find out anything about him, and he seems not to be a philosopher.
  • L. C. B. Seamen I assume it is supposed to be L.C.B. Seaman the historian. Definitely notable, but not a philosopher

[edit] Ethics - debatable requests

Concept already has two articles: Duty, and Obligation Anarchia (talk) 21:03, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
(Only 13 GHits, none linked to notable philosophers - and, if you think about it the name doesn't make sense. Anarchia 21:46, 18 August 2007 (UTC))
A quick google search suggests he is non-notable - but maybe I just haven't found the right one! Anarchia 21:46, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
He's a doctoral candidate at Columbia University. I found a summery of a dissertation of his on the American Council of Learned Societies website ([9]) but as this is the only reference to him I could find I'd consider his notability questionable. However, he is relativly young and may well establish notability more firmly in the future. I'd keep an eye on him, if nothing else. Angrysockhop (talk to me) 06:33, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
Yes, not yet sufficiently notable. Shanata (talk) 16:08, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
  • Morals vs Ethics - Compare and contrast the difference between morals and ethics.
  • Ethics vs Morals - Compare and contrast the difference between ethics and morals.
Explanation is in the first section of Ethics (philosophy)#Morals: "Ethics and morals are respectively akin to theory and practice. Ethics denotes the theory of right action and the greater good, while morals indicate their practice." Perhaps a redirect to this section would be better. Staeiou (talk) 21:52, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Metaphysics- debatable requests

Mysticism, not philosophy - seems to be a non-notable self-published book Luke is a noob. Anarchia (talk) 21:03, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Saluton (talk) 18:27, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
