Please remove this notice when the backlog is cleared. | | General | | | | Content | | | | User issues | | | | Noticeboards | | | This page lists proposed article mergers as a supplement to the merge categories and templates; it does not replace any of the other steps in the merger process. Please add the appropriate merger tag(s) to the articles before listing them here. Category mergers should not be proposed here. Please see Wikipedia:Categories for discussion. Template mergers should not be proposed here. Please see Wikipedia:Templates for discussion. [edit] How to propose a merger Main article: Help:Merging Proposing a merger can be done in three steps: - Create a place for discussion. Go to the talk page of one of the articles and create a section to discuss the merger. If there's already a discussion on the talk page regarding the merger, you can omit this step. The section name can be anything, for example
==Proposed merger from Page1==. - Put one of the merger tags at the top of the articles you wish to be merged. The templates {{merge}}, {{mergefrom}} and {{mergeto}} are the most common ones. Remember to make sure that the Discuss link in each tag points to the section you've created in step 1 – this is to prevent having two separate discussions on different talk pages.
- If the proposed merge is controversial or potentially difficult to carry out, follow the directions under #Requests for assistance and feedback to add it to the list.
[edit] Automatically-generated log For each month, a list of up to 200 requests is generated by a bot. When the merge templates have been removed by the articles in question, they will be taken off the list. [edit] Requests for assistance and feedback In general, this section should be used to solicit outside feedback regarding mergers that are either tricky or of a controversial nature. Brief replies may be posted here, but lengthy discussions should be confined to the talk pages of the articles involved. After articles are merged (or a consensus that the articles should not be merged is reached), please remove them from the list below. [edit] Current requests Please list new requests at the bottom of this section. Sign each listing or comment by typing: ~~~~ - Merge Labour Day (which is %90 a list of May 1 celebrations) with International Workers' Day (which also lists May 1 celebrations. Originally Labour Day included United States Labor Day, but that was split off. International Workers' Day is a split from May 1. The two need to find independent subjects or merge: uninvolved editors needed to decide which. T L Miles (talk)
- Proposed merger of Zo (people) and Zou people (India), discuss at Proposed merger Zo/Zou. A new name may be needed. --Bejnar (talk) 17:23, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- Merge Westwood College Online into Westwood College. —(Discuss)— Jafeluv (talk) 21:41, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
- Proposed merge of Simulism into Simulated reality. A previous AfD pretty strongly pointed at merging, and the title and parts of the content positively seem to be a neologism. Discuss here. --LjL (talk) 01:23, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- Merge Banco de Oro Universal Bank into Banco de Oro. The pages should be merged because the former article simply holds information about the history of the organization, which should have been incorporated into the main article. Discuss here. Handtell (talk) 12:48, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
- Merge Red Garden: Dead Girls into Red Garden. I believe that the article is too small. This would benefit the main article, Red Garden --Hugosworld92 @ 18:07, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
- Merge Continentality into Continental climate. The topics overlap a great deal, and virtually no articles link to Continentality.--Pat Berry (talk) 05:34, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

- Merge Azerbaijani administrative divisions of Nagorno-Karabakh and Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast. First article actually says about administrative division of territory of former Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast. Discuss. Dinamik (talk) 07:19, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- Merge List of monarchs by nickname and List of people by nickname. I created the second article not knowing the first one existed. The first article lists only monarchs but non-monarchs and fictional characters have had similar nicknames. Examples include Joe the Plumber, Larry the Cable Guy, Winnie the Pooh, and Jabba the Hutt. The two articles should be merged under a title would accommodate non-monarchs, and fictional characters, (including non humans).--T1980 (talk) 14:50, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- Merge Cost of poor quality and Quality costs. The two articles appear to be very similar. --Quest for Truth (talk) 06:27, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

- Merge Henry VIII and His Six Wives into The Six Wives of Henry VIII (film). Same movie. 79.89.130.47 (talk) 23:40, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
- Merge List_of_best-selling_music_artists and List_of_best-selling_album_artists: The latter seems to be an independent re-invention of the wheel, which is much younger and of much lower quality than the former. A note is present on the latters talk page. Unfortunately, the former is currently write-protected, and I am unable to add the merge tag.88.77.177.119 (talk) 01:32, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
- Merge Wilberforce Forum into Prison Fellowship. The former describes itself as "Christian worldview thinking, teaching, and advocacy arm" of the latter, and its article lacks third-party sources. Stalled proposal (Talk:Prison Fellowship#Merger proposal) seeking wider input. HrafnTalkStalk(P) 07:22, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- Merge List of books by John Piper into John Piper (theologian) -- he is notable, but not famous; 2 articles is excessive coverage & extensive duplication already DGG ( talk ) 21:46, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
- Merge Rabbit vibrator to Vibrator (sex toy), Aside from one Sex and the City episode, nothing distinguishes this article subject from other types of vibrator—no citations independent from that episode— so the article mostly reads like a generic vibrator description with the word rabbit repeatedly appended. Merge Palmer (Boston and Albany station) into Union Station (Palmer, Massachusetts) - Both articles clearly describe the same location, and even include the same restaurant that occupies the building. ----DanTD (talk) 13:22, 19 October 2009 (UTC) - Merge Pardon (Religious observance in Brittany) with Pardon (ceremony). They both link to the same Catholic Encyclopedia article. However, they define it a bit differently, and I'm not knowledgeable on this topic. Clarityfiend (talk) 05:05, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- Merge Too Beautiful to Live with Luke Burbank - A consensus to not merge seems to have been reached, but if anyone involved tries to end this debate that is anywhere close to involved, its going to degenerate into personal attacks and general incivility --Gold Man60 Talk 05:07, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- Merge List of Super Bowl lead-out programs with Post-Super Bowl television shows. The lists are essentially the same, but both articles have completely different references. I propose that both articles be merged into a new page, titled List of post-Super Bowl television shows, with the information and references from both articles. - Merge Bose stereo speakers, Bose headphones, Previous Bose headphones, Bose computer speakers, Bose Lifestyle Home Entertainment Systems, Bose 3-2-1 Home Entertainment Systems, Bose wave systems, and Bose digital music systems into a single article that briefly discusses notable Bose products without advertising them. - Merge The Road (song) into Superheist. I would just do it without discussion since there seems to be little attention given to the page since its creation, but I cannot figure out what to do about the disambiguation page, or lack thereof. The Road (disambiguation) has no mention of this song page, and I have no experience with disambiguation pages so I just don't know how to deal with it since it would seem to need an entry there before creating a redirect.Riverpa (talk) 02:11, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
- Merge Tilt (poker) and Steam (poker). Discuss here. PokitJaxx (talk) 17:27, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

- Merge Yugoslavian selection for the Eurovision Song Contest into Yugoslavia in the Eurovision Song Contest. Former seems to have been developed as a WP:POVFORK to get around consensus and reliable sources pertaining to the latter. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 17:51, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
- Comment. The request for a merge is phrased in a biased way, it should regarded unsuitable. The article in not a POV fork but an article dedicated to the local contest, which during some years did not sent its representatives to the Eurovision Song Contest. -- Imbris (talk) 01:40, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
- Merge Pennsylvania Route 581 into Capital Beltway (Harrisburg). Since all of PA 581 is part of the Capital Beltway, I see no need for two separate pages.Rufus843 (talk) 04:18, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- Merge Newmarket and New Market (both DAB pages). The names are etymologically the same and it would seem to aid searching and simplify things if there were only one DAB page (with redirects of course). This may be controversial at least around whether there is a primary topic, hence listed here. Talk at Talk:Newmarket. Si Trew (talk) 06:22, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

- Merge Azzurri d'Italia classification into Points classification in the Giro d'Italia. Former is a very minor award, the awarding of which is functionally the same as the latter (which is unquestionably more notable). I can't see the former article growing beyond its current, sad state. Alex finds herself awake at night (Talk · What keeps her up) 06:49, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
- Merge District of Kosovska Mitrovica and Kosovska Mitrovica District (Serbia), because we don't have different District of Kosovska Mitrovica of Republic of Kosovo and Kosovska Mitrovica District of Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija of Serbia. They are the same, because they have identical borders and administrative divisions. We have only one object consider to: District of Kosovska Mitrovica (or Kosovska Mitrovica District) of Kosovo, which is the same in Republic of Kosovo and Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija of Serbia. See discussion here. Dinamik (talk) 16:14, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
- Move Fort St. George (Popham Colony) into Popham Colony. The fort was the nucleus of the colony and doesn't really need a separate article. The Fort St George (disambiguation) page can have its entry for the Popham Colony fort redirect to Popham Colony. The discussion is here. Ketone16 (talk) 17:46, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
- Merge BBC One 'Balloon' idents, BBC One 'Rhythm & Movement' idents and BBC One 'Circle' idents into History of BBC television idents#BBC Television Service/BBC One, because much of the content of these articles could be condensed into the article as perhaps a few sentences. The discussion so far is here. Wikiwoohoo (talk) 23:08, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
- Merge Cyanosaurus into Cyonosaurus. The name "Cyanosaurus" is a mistake, the correct one is Cyonosaurus (gr. "cyon", dog, and "saûros", lizard), this name is shown in the original publication of 1937, "The Cranial Morphology of a New Gorgonopsian", by Everett Claire Olson (1937), publisher: The University of Chicago Press, in which the discoverer of this genus exposes its features... So Cyanosaurus is a repeated article, with additional content... but the name "Cyanosaurus" is incorrect (so it must be deleted). Tirithel (talk) 22:13, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- Merge Halfback and Running back. They are positions in American Football, primarily the NFL. The two articles are nearly identical and in this day and age the terms halfback and running back are pretty much synonymous. I don't see the reason to have to separate pages which are basically identical and neither seem to mention a solid difference between the terms "Halfback" and "Running back" —ASPENSTI—TALK—CONTRIBUTIONS 04:50, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- Merge Swedish Forest and Wood Workers' Union and Swedish Graphic Workers' Union into GS (swedish union). The two unions merged into GS june 1 2009 and I created a page for the new union. I am not overly active in the english wiki and not familiar with policies and such. Is it proper to have one article for the present organization, with the former organizations under a 'history' heading? Svart0 (talk) 13:01, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
