ProblemsA Wikipedia marker is at the wrong place on Google Earth. Google Earth contains weird markers linked to Wikipedia. SolutionIf the location given inside the current Wikipedia article seems correct: Please contact Google, for instance using this form. If it is incorrect: you can fix it yourself by clicking on "edit this page" and changing the data in the "coord" tag. ExplanationGoogle Earth is a service of Google, Inc., a company with no relationship to the Wikimedia Foundation, which hosts Wikipedia. Google downloads Wikipedia articles and then links them to Google Earth locations. Google does not update its database in real time and it is possible that it keeps incorrect data from Wikipedia long after it has been corrected in Wikipedia. The Wikimedia Foundation has no means to change anything in Google's database, including wrong locations for markers or inappropriate text. For more information, see how Google Earth geographical layers work. |
