Walang Kapalit (English, Irreplaceable) was a Philippine television series broadcast by ABS-CBN. It premiered April 23, 2007 on ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida.

A riveting story coupled by an equally riveting cast. Boasting an ensemble cast and a story that will keep you on the edge of your toes, Walang Kapalit will surely keep you hooked to the very end.

Walang Kapalit is based on Mike De Leon's 1985 drama Hindi Nahahati Ang Langit, an adaptation from an earlier komiks version of the same title by Nerissa Cabral.

The show was a big hit in its initial months of airing but they were later defeated by their rival shows namely by Impostora because it was places on later timeslots in favor of newer shows such as Ysabella and Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal.

A very different Television series A couple from the past Ariston and Agnes are past lovers whose spouses died and they have children from those relationships Ariston has Noel and Agnes has Melanie but both children hate each other and like each other afterwards but a forbidden love separates all and complications arise when death of their spouses lead them to leave each other in this powerful drama

Ariston Edu Manzano and Agnes Dina Bonnevie are both lovers from the past who live respective lives and afterwards fall in love and marry both have children from their dead spouses Noel a rebel and the son of Ariston who always wanted someone to care for him Noel finds comfort in his Nanny and maid Ceding Amy Austria who knows his past and then their is Melanie the sweet angel but loving child of Agnes who always dreamt of having a older sibling that would take care of her as they fight and fight throughout their childhood the story takes place in the late 90's where Melanie Claudine Barretto and Noel Piolo Pascual are teenagers Melanie is a high school student and Noel is a soon to be College student soon to take over the family business but fate plays a trick as Melanie blossoms into a more beautiful girl Melanie meets new boys but must go through Noel and the family but since she can't find true love she meets Ronald Santilian Bobby Andrews her best friend Ressie's Nikki Valdez cousin but Ronald tries to impress her but he makes more attempts to make her feel less attractive to him so she sticks to becoming friends with him the events that are happen to them start to thicken when an incident kissing Melanie goes to far Noel and Melanie hide their feelings but cause them to fight again which leads them to separate because of Melanie's incidents leading to Noel's problems and getting in trouble now he goes to Australia as a choice to get away from bad luck now Agnes has gotten into a hard attack so he decides to take his education as an engineer to take care of the family business to show Ariston how responsible and how he can be honored back as he goes to Australia Cynthia Jodi Sta. Maria is obsessed with Noel all the way she makes his life a living hell so when an incident occurs leaving Noel in a crash Melanie and the family go to Australia and as he is feeling better their love brings them together and they admit their love but the love breaks Agnes heart as she finds out and Ariston to is bewildered which leads them to separate the children after they still disobeyed their parents so Noel and Ariston stay together while Melanie stays with Agnes while communication is still open as Melanie gets help from Ronald and the love still begins but as Ariston comes back it comes to Melanie's attention that Agnes wants her to go ahead and fall in love with Noel and dies but Cynthia psycho mind leads Noel and Melanie into more drama so as he comes home Melanie decides to close the relationship but Ariston is now the Power of the household but Noel and Melanie go back to usual but when the truth seems to seek out one day about the truth about Noel's life which happens after graduating Ariston gets hit by a unknown bus and dies so Melanie decides to shut all connection necessary and falls for Ronald and Noel just dates Cynthia because of his sympathy for her. Noel is now legal guardian and since she is a minor she can do whatever she wants after graduating and now a mature college graduate a new chapter begins.

Noel is no longer guardian but as Melanie is now Sum a Cum Laude and successful college grad she is now free but as siblings they start bonding again instead of holding a grudge so eventually on the day Melanie is graduating Noel decides to surprise Melanie he waits for Melanie as they celebrate her graduation party her promise to Noel is not fulfilled now hurt they start fighting so Melanie gets all rights to her inheritance and works for the family business and decides to marry Ronald but Noel tries to stop it but he cannot do anything about Melanie because she is now at the right age so Melanie marries Ronald after hearing he does not love her he marries her and goes home to Australia and falls for Cynthia thinking she is not bipolar he marries her but as his failing business is going down Melanie a successful businesswoman tries to get her Father in-laws attention and gives Noel a job at the firm but as they are business partners Ronald an alcoholic now abuses Melanie and she has miscarriages that have been happening twice while Cynthia is so obsessed with what Noel does and the complications arise in which jealousy erupts and now Noel and Melanie are innocent but they do love each other and nothing can tear them apart even if they share only one thing very jealous relationships with the people they love they still love each other and now other people are victims their families their love ones and people around them will they resign to the eyes of fate? or is this the second chance they could have done a long time ago? and when Cynthia and Ronald make a scandal they lose fate in their marriages and meet other people but Cynthia gets an annulment even if she loses Noel and then Melanie gets evidence so she can stop this nonsense once and for all but now as she does she flies up to the U.S to make a living she meets Brian but gets hurt and Noel seems to date but gets an old feeling but as he resides in Australia he comes home and Melanie too with out knowing Melanie and Noel get married Meanwhile Cynthia meets Brian her Psycho Analysis doctor in fear of finding no love Cynthia and Brian marry but she can't move on completely and then Ronald's family's life is at stake as they lose millions Melanie and Noel and Cynthia's paths meet again and an unexpected encounter with Ronald results tragedy as Ronald is killed by Cynthia after Melanie passes out with not knowing and blames it on Melanie the result Melanie ends up in Jail and therefore that is when the child Melanie has is given to Cynthia resulting that the child might be dead to Melanie but not to Cynthia who decided to not tell Brian because she told Brian that she was going to adopt with no knowledge for Brian as Cynthia had miscarriages and was raped simutaneously, but as years pass again Melanie gets out of jail and now Ronald's family knows the truth that it wasn't Melanies fault and in the end as Cynthia ends up in jail the child whose name is Frankie is now having a good relationship with Melanie but then he tries to find for Cynthia's affection but as she gets bailed out to help out with the child's ordeal she decides to kidnap the child but the childs life is at stake but in the end Cynthia does suicide Brian dies and Noel and Melanie gets Frankies affection back and now Noel finds out he is the son of Ceding and the younger brother of Ariston and now everything seems to be okay at last.

Claudine Barretto as Melanie Santillian/Borromeo, the young stepsister of Noel. She has always wanted an older brother to protect her, but ended up with Noel, who seems to harbor an inexplicable hate towards her. She tends to get hurt easily, but will also put a good fight when challenged. Her life changes forever when she unexpectedly falls in love with Noel. After a disastrous marriage to Ronald, she ends up marrying Noel, her true love, however, not without many challenges.

Piolo Pascual as Noel Borromeo, the strait-laced stepbrother of Melanie. Raised by his father's iron hand, he tends to be rigid, and wants nothing but to achieve his father's high expectations from him. Still grieving from his mother's unexpected demise, he hates Melanie to the core, thinking that she and her mother, Agnes snatched Noel's mother's place in Ariston's heart. After a disastrous marriage to Cynthia, he ends up marrying Melanie, his true love, but not without many challenges.

Edu Manzano as Ariston Borromeo, Noel's adoptive father, later revealed, Noel's half-brother. He is rather strict with Noel, and seems to favor Melanie all the time, fueling his son's anger towards Melanie more. Right before his death, due to a car accident, he tries to tell Noel the truth of his paternity. (Deceased)

Dina Bonnevie as Agnes Borromeo, Melanie's biological mother, and Ariston's second wife. Sensing the tension between Noel and Ariston, she tries to make it up by taking Noel's side, and encouraging him whenever she has the chance, as she wants nothing more than to patch things up between Noel and her daughter, Melanie. Later, she sees the romantic connection between Melanie and Noel, and with Ariston, tries to separate them. She later dies of a stroke. (Decesaed)

Amy Austria as Ceding, Ariston's loyal maid. She showered Noel lots of love, something which his father lacked. Often playing as the arbiter between Noel and Melanie, she holds the secret to Noel's real identity. It is later revealed that she is Noel's mother, however, Noel has yet to find out. Noel feels as if she is his mother due to the love and affection that she has always given him.

Jodi Sta. Maria as Cynthia Bermudez Borromeo/Hizon. She is Noel's best friend's (Brian) bipolar sister, who's been in love with Noel ever since they were little, and is more than willing to marry him even though she knows that he doesn't love her back. Her jealousy and infidelity cost her marriage to Noel, and her actions after ends up being vengeful towards Melanie. She is married to Dr. Victor Hizon, her psychiatrist. She kills Ronald & frames Melanie. She also kidnapped Ernest from Melanie when he was a newborn. In the series finale she finally came clean but ended up committing a suicide by jumping off the jail roof. She was cremated. (Deceased)

Bobby Andrews as Ronald Santillian, who pants after Melanie. He's used to getting everything he wants, and knowing that Melanie doesn't love him back poses a big challenge for him. His infidelity costs him his marriage to Melanie. After a long court battle for an annulment, he still pines for Melanie. He is murdered by Cynthia (revenge for destroying her marriage to Noel) during his attempt to win back Melanie's affections.(Deceased)

Nikki Valdez as Recy, Melanie's wacky best friend, who often leads Melanie to trouble without meaning to. She is Ronald's cousin, and the bridge to Ronald and Melanie.

DJ Durano as Bryan Bermudez, Noel's best friend and Cythia's older brother. He wants nothing but the best for his little sister. However, he is beginning to realize Cynthia's actions and sides with Noel against her.

Candy Pangilinan as Moody, Ariston's new maid, who likes to dabble in other people's problems. Despite that, Ceding always turns to her whenever problems arise.

Lloyd Samartino as Arnold Santillian, the rich and powerful father of Ronald. He's more than willing to do everything for his children, and will go as far as cover up their mistakes.

Susan Africa as Elaine Santillian, Arnold's wife and Ronald's mother. She doesn't have a mind of her own, and just goes along with what her husband wants. Her lying testimony during Melanie's murder trial is what sends Melanie to prison for Ronald's murder, though she is innocent.

Eda Nolan as Vanessa Santillian, Ronald's younger sister. Known as the "campus bad girl", she doesn't care what other people think of her, and always gets into fights with her older brother, Ronald. She is a good daughter and helps around the house. She sides with Melanie during the murder trial, even though her parents become very angry with her. She ends up marrying Miguel.

Victor Basa as Miguel, Ceding's nephew. He grew up in the province and is very conservative. However, he unwittingly falls for Vanessa, even if they are worlds apart. After being reunited years later, he ends up marrying Vanessa.

Joem Bascon as Anton, the "campus hearthrob" and Vanessa's boyfriend. His immaturity always leads him into fights with his girlfriend.

TJ Trinidad as Dr. Victor Hizon, Cynthia's psychiatrist. He and Cynthia will later get married, even though he knows that Cynthia is still in love with Noel.

In 2003, a movie was also made with the same title. It stars Sharon Cuneta and Richard Gomez and was produced by Viva Films.^[1]
This series is directed by Wenn Deramas, who had earlier directed Kampanerang Kuba.
This is the first primetime teleserye featuring both Piolo Pascual and Claudine Barretto in the lead roles.
Julia Baretto Padilla, who portrayed the role of young Melanie, is Claudine Baretto's niece. Claudine is currently portraying the role of the grown-up Melanie.
The first movie also starred Edu Manzano as Ronald (now as Ariston, Noel's adoptive father/half-brother) and Dina Bonnevie as Cynthia (now as Agnes, Melanie's mother).
The original female lead's name is Melody, not Melanie.
The plot is also different. In the earlier version, Melody married Ronald because she was led to believe by Ronald that they had premarital sex. Eventually, Melody learned that they had never consummated their marriage. In the TV series however, it was Melanie who proposed to Ronald in front of Noel because she heard beforehand that Noel does not love her anymore, and so that Ronald can live in their house legally.
In the earlier version, Cynthia is a good person and not psycho as portrayed in the TV version.
Throughout the teleserye, scenes have been shot in Sydney, Australia.
The finale was the shortest series finale (running approximately 15 mins w/out commercials) that aried in ABS-CBN.
