[edit] Release

WWF The Music, Vol. 5 debuted at #2 on the albums chart in February 2001 by selling 176,000 copies, and then it stayed in the top 20 for two weeks.[1] Unlike the WWF-produced albums before it that reached platinum, it had sold approximately 640,000 copies by April 2002. [1]

[edit] Critical reception

Russell Baillie of The New Zealand Herald rated the album one star, stating "...they may fake it in the ring but this is truly, truly brutal."[2] Likewise, Alex Ristic of Slam! Wrestling said that the album is "littered with inconsistencies and because of that only a true hardcore WWF should purchase this item."[3]
