The World Boxing Union (WBU) is a lightly regarded boxing sanctioning body whose "world champions" often lack widespread recognition. WBU titles are often a stepping-stone for fighters who progress to other titles. In recent years many of their title fights have taken place under the promotion of British promoter Frank Warren's Sports Network. They do not have mandatory challengers for their world titles.
[edit] List of WBU Heavyweight ChampionsSince the WBU Heavyweight title's inception in 1995, there have been six recognized champions.[1].
Past and current WBU champions have included Enzo Maccarinelli, James Toney, Corrie Sanders, Leva Kirakosyan, Johnny Nelson , Brian Keohane, Lee McAllister, Michael Gomez, Willie Limond, Choi Tseveenpurev and Ricky Hatton. [edit] See also[edit] Other world organizations
