Viviane Forrester (born 1927 in Paris) is a writer, essayist, novelist and literary critic. She works for Le Monde, Le Nouvel Observateur and Quinzaine littéraire and is a member of the jury of the Prix Femina. She became famous internationally with her books on political affairs. In L'Horreur économique and Une étrange dictature she criticizes the globalisation of society. She won the Prix Goncourt de la Biographie in 2009 for her biography of Virginia Wolf.
