The Wiener Börse AG (also known as the Vienna Stock Exchange (WBAG)) is a stock exchange in Vienna, Austria and one of the most established exchanges in Eastern- and Southeastern Europe.

Wiener Börse is one of the world's oldest exchanges and was founded in 1771 during the reign of Empress Maria Theresa of Austria in order to provide a market for state issued bonds.

The crash on May 9, 1873 of the Vienna Stock Exchange – the so-called Gründerkrach or “founders' crash” – was part of a worldwide downturn which, in the US, led to the September, 1873 bankruptcy of the Philadelphia banking firm Jay Cooke. The Panic of 1873 and Long Depression followed.

The Vienna Stock Exchange represents approximately 60% of Austrian stock trade, with the balance traded over-the-counter. The WBI Index is made up of all domestic shares listed, while the ATX (Austrian Traded Index) is the largest stock market index on the exchange.

All trading is conducted electronically through EQOS (Electronic Quote and Order-Driven System) which is based on the Deutsche Börse's Xetra (trading system).

Futures and options are traded on the Österreichische Termin-und Optionenbörse (OTOB). Products include ATX futures, Austrian government bond futures, American style stock options, and European style ATX options.

Vienna Stock Exchange is main sponsor and manager of Budapest Stock Exchange and the two exchanges share an interlinked structure, exchange of stocks and information. A similar co-operation is being set up for Bucharest Stock Exchange and Zagreb Stock Exchange.

The exchange has normal trading sessions from 09:15am to 05:35pm on all days of the week except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays declared by the Exchange in advance.[1]

In June 2008 the Vienna Stock Exchange bought Ljubljana Stock Exchange (Ljubljanska borza).
