Verbania (Lombard and Piedmontese: Verbania) is a city and comune (commune) on the shore of Lake Maggiore, Piedmont in northwest Italy. It was created by the 1939 merger of the cities of Intra and Pallanza. Since 1992 it has been the capital of the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola.
