She is a daughter of Dennis and Marie Zima. She has an older sister, Madeline, and one younger sister, Yvonne.

Zima has played parts in movies such as Ulee's Gold, Zoe and TheBrainiacs.com. She began her film career at the age of eight in The Baby-Sitters Club 1995, a film also starring Larisa Oleynik and Rachael Leigh Cook.
