Thanks for the help:-) -- Stillwaterising (talk) 06:00, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

To those who are reading this - I just semiprotected the article, that's all. Promise. ~ Riana 06:01, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Well, that was a nice and very pleasant surprise. ;) Hi Riana! Acalamari 19:26, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Red Star

Red Star

Congratulations, Riana! It's my pleasure to award you November 4, 2009's Red Star for being hard working, kind to others, and for being an excellent user in general. A record of this award will always be kept at User:Meaghan/Shining Stars. Enjoy! Meaghan guess who :) 00:00, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

You could also receive the next higher up award, the Orange Star!

That's very kind of you, thanks! :) ~ Riana 02:44, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Yo, just about to decline that speedy based on this piece citing a circulation of 80k+. Thoughts?  Skomorokh, barbarian  13:03, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Fair call. It'll need work to avoid someone whacking it with A1 though :) ~ Riana 13:05, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] AFD

By the way, I could really use an editor opinion on how to deal with the Afd of Heather Harmon and the resulting conflict with the editor User:Epbr123. Please take a look at the Harmon section on his talk page, if he doesn't delete it again. If it's not there I have an archive of it at User:Stillwaterising/Epbr123 -Stillwaterising (talk) 04:28, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

You need to understand what that situation looked like for Fvas. A troll adds vandalism to the userpage, and a few minutes later, you add a comment which may be interpreted as inflammatory? Fvas did nothing wrong with the revert. You were simply at the wrong place at the wrong time. —Dark 10:39, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Sean Wolfington

You restored this article based on a contested deletion. Can you point me to the discussion please (and the contested deletion). I can't locate any discussion at the Deletion Review. Thank you. --HighKing (talk) 12:51, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi HighKing, a user e-mailed me requesting the restoration. I may be mistaken as to current policy, but when I was last active (admittedly a fair while back), generally a request via any process was valid to overturn a prod / restore a deleted article. If I'm mistaken in this I'm very sorry! ~ Riana 12:56, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
It's pretty unusual to undelete an article because you've received an email. The policy to review a deletion has been around for 5 years. Can you please re-delete the article and follow established procedure please - that way everything is above board. Chances are, if the subject is deemed notable, the article will be undeleted in any case. --HighKing (talk) 19:36, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
Just spotted that the policy (at WP:DEL) states that Any editor who disagrees with a proposed deletion can simply remove the tag. Even after the page is deleted, any editor can have the page restored by any administrator simply by asking. In both cases the editor is encouraged to fix the perceived problem with the page, but in the interests of transparency, could you please ensure there is a record somewhere of the fact that you received a request to undelete the page and you complied. Thank you. --HighKing (talk) 19:40, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
17:32, 6 November 2009 Riana (talk | contribs | block) restored "Sean Wolfington" ‎ (232 revisions restored: request to undelete; WP:CONTESTED) - I believe this consitutes a "record of the fact that [I] received a request to undelete" - if you wish to take the article to AfD, you may make note of this conversation as well as the deletion log. Any more than this seems a bit like hoop-jumping to me. ~ Riana 00:14, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
Nah, you're right. Actually had I read the policy properly myself and seen the quote above, I wouldn't have bothered you at all. Thanks. --HighKing (talk) 18:03, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
No trouble :) I've left a note on the talkpage nevertheless. Cheers, ~ Riana 01:24, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Congratulations, Riana! Within the past three days, you received the Red Star for being hard working, kind to others, and for being an excellent user in general. [edit] Blanking History on User Page

I made changes to WP:USER by creating a shortcut called WP:DELTALK and using seealso so that this and BLANKING are cross-reference. This may avoid the confusion I had when I tried to find the policy on Talk removal.

How can I get the revision history removed on my main user page? I may have included some personal information that I don't want accessible. -Stillwaterising (talk) 15:02, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

It's backed up. Go ahead. Please remember to restore semi-protection. Stillwaterising (talk) 18:21, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

Restore current page is fine. I have the code backed up in just in case. --Stillwaterising (talk) 00:28, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Awesome! U R da best! -Stillwaterising (talk) 00:34, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Do you use one of the chat clients like yahoo? I would like to talk to you about the Afd nonsense. -Stillwaterising (talk) 00:38, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Your honest is VERY refreshing, compared to my nemesis and his "sockpupet". You can you check out their comments on the Harmon Afd page <here>. I also posted a request on the WP:RS noticeboard but they skipped my request and took care of everything else. I asked about it on their talk page; do you have any insight as to why it was ignored? Was it because it regarded pornography, or because it's dealing with an article that is in the Afd process?

Are there generally boneheads in every Afd conversation that just say "doesn't mees GNG, and BLP, delete while the ones who say keep actually take the time to explain themselves? All this BS regarding porn Afd is driving me nuts. -Stillwaterising (talk) 01:45, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Still, I will say this only once and I will make it very clear. This is a collaborative project, and I will not tolerate attacks being made on other editors, regardless of their views. Calling Epbr123, however you may differ with his views, a "bonehead" and accusing him of abusive sockpuppetry without proof (the former a personal attack, the latter a very serious accusation) is an unwise course of action. I suggest that you keep these personal thoughts to yourself, unless you have a substantial amount of evidence; in which case, you should submit it to arbcom. I will not tolerate these unfounded accusations and attacks on a respected administrator so please stop, or a temporary block from the project might become an option. —Dark 10:02, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] re: Century of humiliation

You have new messages
Hello, Riana. You have new messages at JohnCD's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Dear Riana, many thanks for your little note and the smiley star. It has cheered me up a bit. I have been getting a bit annoyed with wikipedia lately as almost everything I do seems to get attacked and I keep having to 'battle' to avoid things I have done being deleted. I must be doing something wrong. My latest problem being an article on Matthew Watson being deleted. The deleter kindly gave it back for me to work on but it is still annoying (User:Msrasnw/Matthew Watson) Anyway your act of deception was 'funny' - and made me smile . best wishes (Msrasnw (talk) 12:26, 12 November 2009 (UTC))

Hi Msrasnw, you're welcome, it was well-deserved. I haven't the time now but I'll look at your article within the next 24 hours, promise! Cheers, ~ Riana 13:30, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
Dear Riana, hope all is well - I guess you haven't had time - or you thought there was no problem to be addressed. But I am still bothered that the article User:Msrasnw/Matthew Watson that I have spent a bit of time (too much time) on is still not deemed OK. I do feel it was wrongly deleted. I have communicated with the deleting admin (User talk:Skomorokh#User:Msrasnw/Matthew Watson) but had no joy yet. It might be I should wait a bit more fore response from Skomorokh but in the mean time I would welcome another "view". I don't know if I should just go down the official deletion review angle. It is funny how one gets sucked into these things - I think I should just keep trying to make new things instead of this sort of thing anyway - best wishes, (Msrasnw (talk) 16:21, 18 November 2009 (UTC))

[edit] Thanks!

Hi Riana, Thanks for your welcome message - it was both heart-warming and informative! Yaniv Kunda (talk) 23:34, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] For what it's worth...

"...but "there's only so much unpleasant stuff you can ask them to do" (Q21)? Er - welcome to Arbcom :)" referred to administrators generally, not arbitrators. Appreciate your kind words, one way or another. Cheers, Steve Smith (talk) 17:00, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Sean Wolfington

Hi Riana. My name is Sean Wolfington and i was wondering what happened to the article about me that was deleted. I am not familiar with Wikipedia's rules and guidelines and wanted to know if i did something wrong. If you can help advise me i would appreciate it. Also, i read the discussion page requesting a speedy deletion and it said that there was not alot of information beyond the sale of the 2 companies i founded and the film i produced. As a business person and film producer i have done alot more than what the page describes but the information was not there.

Since i don't know alot about Wikipedia i asked a freind and they suggested i provide information to the people on the business page of Wikipedia to get their oppinion of wheter the article is noteworthy and i wanted to give you additional information that was not on the article you deleted to see if that may change whether the article is noteworthy.

Here is a summary of my background so you can evaluate whether it is noteworthy. All of this information is available through major news outlets, which i thought was the criteria for determining if something was noteworthy... but again i don't know alot about how this site works. Below is my background information, please tell me if any of this is noteworthy. Some of the information was not in the original article and the additional information may effect whether the article is noteworthy.

Here is my background: I am an Entreprenuer and a film maker. I founded and sold 2 technology companies by the age of 34. The first company, HAC Group which operated as Cyber Car and Automark, sold for $200 million (article with info can be viewed at: http://www.nytimes.com/2000/04/18/business/company-news-reynolds-reynolds-to-buy-hac-group-for-200-million.html) and the second for $125 million dollars of enterprise value (BZ Results article- http://www.dealerrefresh.com/adp-buys-bz-results/ - there are many articles about these companies but these are links i just found). My company was recognized as the "Innovative company of the year" from Auto Success Magazine along with SAP (http://www.autosuccessonline.com/leadership.aspx) and I was a finalist for the Ernst & Young "Entreprenuer of the Year" when i was 34 years old and a few months ago was recognized by Haute Living Magazine as one of the top 100 most influential leaders in the Haute 100 (view at:http://www.hauteliving.com/?s=sean+wolfington). After selling the second company, I started a film production company where i financed, produced and distributed the first film myself (Bella)and it was the #1 top grossing film in its category. (here is an article i wrote for the Huffington Post about it- http://www.huffingtonpost.com/sean-wolfington/what-i-learned-about-maki_b_102704.html and LA Times wrote an article about it - articles.latimes.com/2007/dec/04/entertainment/et-bella4) It also was the #1 rated movie on Yahoo, NY Times, Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes while in theaters and it is currently one of the top 50 Rated Films of All Time on Yahoo and it was the #1 Rated movie of 2007 by the users of the largest film review site in the world, RottenTomatoes.com. After that i produced 2 other films including a new motion picture called Mighty Macks (you can view at IMDB http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1034324/ and you can view my film history at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2055676/). In addition to the film production company i currently own 6 companies in the technology, real estate and entertainment industries. I know most people on Wikipedia are more interesting and i am not writing this to boast, i just want to give you an overview of who i am so you can determine if the article is noteworthy. I would really appreciate your help with this because i don't know how any of this works. Also, i left a message on the talk page of the other people who suggested the article be deleted. One of them said the new information was important to know and they suggested i create a new article but i don't know how to do that. Is it possible to undelete the old article and update that with the additional information and independent source references?

I hope you can advise me on this. Thank you.Seanwolfington (talk) 05:29, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

IThanks. Sean. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seanwolfington (talkcontribs) 07:37, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
