Thank you very much for the images you are contributing to Wikipedia, you seem to have a very impressive collection of images. One thing that would be of service would be if you could specify which license you are releasing the pictures under. The most common license is the GFDL, to release an image under the GFDL simply add {{GFDL}} to each image's page. A list of other possible licenses and tags can be found at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. Below is a list of the images you have uploaded. If you have a couple minutes it would be much appreciated if you could add copyright tags to them. - SimonP 21:08, Nov 22, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Eskdale photosHey Mick, Great photos of Eskdale. I used to stay at Penny Hill Farm as a kid and it was really nice to see the photo of Harter Fell. Even after spending time in the Alps, Eskdale is still a beautiful place. Regards, Keith [edit] Coldstream BridgeHey! :) I really really like your photos... I found one of them that justabout fitted my new article at Coldstream Bridge, but I wondered if you had one that featured more on the (very interesting) bridge and less on the Tweed? If you did it would be fantastic, if not, I am sure we can make do with the current one. Thanks a lot for all your work on the British geography articles! --TheGrappler 22:47, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Berwick Bridge and Royal Tweed BridgeAgain, thanks for the photos! I don't suppose you have one for the Royal Border Bridge too? That's the Victorian railway viaduct carrying the East Coast Mainline over the Tweed - it's a pretty dramatic sight, but I haven't been able to find a free photograph for it! Thanks, TheGrappler 16:26, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Mark VHallo Mick! Very nice article about Bovington Tank Museum! And very, very nice pictures. Especially the one of the Mark V! Could you possibly put it (or any other of course :o) on WikiCommons also? There's a number of foreign language wikiprojects that would benefit greatly from the inclusion of your gorgeous picture(s). WWI vehicles are quite rare and it's difficult to obtain photos of them. Thanks anyhow,--MWAK 3 July 2005 14:25 (UTC)

[edit] EskdaleSincere apologies for removing your picture. I appreciate the effort you went to in taking it (hard to get to valley is Eskdale!) and I guess I just forgot that you can have two pictures in the same article! I think your picture is better, come to think of it I'm not even siure if my picture's of Eskdale at all! Thanks for not deleting the other picture. Actually I got it from this website. They aim to have a photo from every 1km grid square in Britain, and all the images are licensed as Creative Commons Attribution, so they are suitable for copying onto wikipedia. Apologies for forgetting to license it. --Mark J 15:43, 29 October 2005 (UTC) [edit] Paris-ToursWhy didn't you just use "292 km" on your new map at Paris-Tours? The objection wasn't to your use of a symbol; it was to your use of the improper symbol "KM". While there are situations in which the spelled out word can be capitalized, it looks ugly here, and even spelled out would be better with a lowercase k. But since this differs from the rules that the symbols are case sensitive, I won't revert it, just letting you know that it could be better. The shading on this new version is also too dark for my tastes. Gene Nygaard 17:49, 27 November 2005 (UTC) [edit] Royal Border BridgeMany thanks for the photo. Seeing as there have now been a couple of changes of livery, perhaps it would be good to add a section to the supertram article on the various liveries that have been used. This would then be a good place to put photos that illustrate each livery. I found this photograph that illustrates the original livery, but I'm sure that there are more out there. I was wondering if you have any photos handy for the central fells I've started? I only seem to walk in the kind of weather that means I need a GPS just to find my sandwiches. Two more centrals to go and then I'm planning to move east of Kirkstone for a bit. One thing that strikes me as a newcomer to this wiki lark, is that there's several Wainwright formats out there already. I copied one that seemed prevalent, only to find it wasn't particularly. I don't think I took anything away (apart from the derivation of 'Assynt', which I explained in the edit summary); I just moved stuff around so it was better organised, with a concise lead and sections arranged thematically per the Manual of Style, and added a few pieces of information and/or clarified some points. Please don't feel offended - you wrote a great article, I was just trying to make it clearer for the general reader. If there were any specific things you think were out of order (in either sense!) then by all means put them right or address the matter on the talk page, but why the wholesale reversion? --Blisco 13:18, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

I have tried to render it at least partially into IPA. I have to admit I have mixed feelings about IPA, as I think while it is internationally recognised, it can be about as widely understood as Klingon or Esperanto! I wish English wikipedia would agree to a dual pronounciation guide, i.e. one for the linguists, and another for ordinary mortals. The other problem is that there are a few unusual sounds in Gaelic which don't occur in too many other languages, so finding a reference point can be difficult. --MacRusgail 16:18, 26 February 2007 (UTC) [edit] Hardman and Co.Just found your edits. [edit] Teddy Davison--BorgQueen (talk) 05:19, 9 July 2008 (UTC) Interesting article - it took a bit of work to give him his five minutes of fame on the front page! The new section can be found here. There's also a book list that will help in sourcing articles if you need information from a book that you do not own, so if you could add any books that you have to the list then that would be great too. Finally, I'm in the process of starting individual articles for each of Wednesday's seasons. To start with these will essentially be stubs with an infobox and final league table, but will eventually be fleshed out. If you would like to help by expanding these articles or by creating some of the stubs then feel free to join in – you won't be treading on any toes! There is a full list of the season articles here. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid. We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded. You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets. We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page! This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[Image:Am Bodach from Stob Choire a Chairn.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 14:32, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

I've nominated Moss Force, an article you worked on, for consideration to appear on the Main Page as part of Wikipedia:Did you know. You can see the hook for the article here, where you can improve it if you see fit. Bruce1eetalk 13:28, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
[edit] DYK for Moss ForceBorgQueen (talk) 18:07, 24 July 2009 (UTC) [edit] Derwent EdgeThe article may be about Derwent Edge, but the infobox (elevation info, OS grid reference, coordinates) is specifically about Back Tor, the highest point on the escarpment. Illustrating the infobox with an image of a place other than Back Tor does not appear to me to make sense. What exactly is your rationale for the change? (The layout problem created by your preferred positioning of the images may be a matter of taste, but note MOS:IMAGES: "Avoid sandwiching text between two images that face each other". I believe that having a left-aligned image at the top of an article is discouraged somewhere, as well.) Your comments, suggestions and observations are welcome. [edit] Endcliffe HallHi. I noticed that you added Endcliffe Hall to the list of buildings by William Flockton (nice article by the way). It looks to me that Endcliffe Hall was by Flockton & Abbott, and as far as I know the Flockton in that partnership was William's son Thomas James Flockton. I'm not sure what to do here... I started the William Flockton article as an article about the person; but because I included details about the successor firms I redirected the names of those firms to that article, meaning that this is where someone clicking Flockton & Abbott is redirected to. Four solutions come to mind: 1—retitle the table in the article, 2—add a second table to the article for buildings by the successor firms, 3—retitle the article to be about Flockton firms in general rather than just William Flockton, 4—start new articles for the successor firms. Do you have a preference? Thanks, —Jeremy (talk) 14:37, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
