Why? My friend. I have my e-mail address in user page.--Nvvchar (talk) 10:36, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
[edit] I'm sorry
All the best to you...and my e-mail, too, is on my userpage. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 14:00, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
- I'm kind of puzzled as to what happened... I don't pay attention for a few days, and now you're gone! This is a big loss to Wikipedia. I'm getting kind of tired of this site myself, so I understand how you feel. I hope you are finding something new and great to do with your time now. Calliopejen1 (talk) 15:43, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
- Feeling frustrated with Wikipedia eventually happens to everyone; until you've dealt with one or more bouts of WikiBurnout, you aren't a real Wikipedian. In any case, better to leave with a bit of class (which our friend has done), than to be a diva & flame everyone on your way out. (Or use his orbital laser as a good-bye salute. ;-) -- llywrch (talk) 16:38, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
- Noooo... - Translation: No, Wikipedia is losing the best Wikipedian, the biggest article creator in English Wikipedia; return some month or year, great, legendary user.... if you want you could be active and create articles in Spanish Wikipedia or another Wikipedia. Are you active in another Wikipedia? Calliopejen1 (talk) 20:19, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
[edit] What a loss!
What a loss to all of us who care! But, I know how discouraging it can be when one's hard work is destroyed by people who either just don't understand (or wish to understand) or outright vandals. I often feel like leaving Wikipedia too - sometimes I just don't have the energy or time to battle with the bad and the stupid. Life is short and to be enjoyed and there are other forums available where one doesn't have to struggle with such types. For the present, I will remain, as I do believe the Wikipedia is a fine concept and is providing free information to millions. Still, our dear friend "Himalayan Explorer" will be very sadly missed - we are all the losers. John Hill (talk) 14:53, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
- It's a pity that Himalayan Explorer seems not to have understood that consensus is a fundamental pillar of Wikipedia, and to have had great difficulty with the process of discussing major changes to seek consensus for them. I hope that Himalayan Explorer will return to assist in cleaning up some of the consequences of the large number of out of out-of-process category moves and merges he did, and to try to build consensus for a solution.
- It's sad too to see that there other editors who apparently don't like the principle of consensus, and who are prepared to describe those trying to find consensus solutions as c"don't understand (or wish to understand) or outright vandals". WP:AGF, please. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 15:18, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
- On the other hand, Wikipedia:Be bold is also a key concept to Wikipedia. Without knowing all of the details, but assuming good faith on both sides, I'd like to mention the following. It can often be more of a hassle to gain consensus for a given change than the change is worth doing; I've proposed ideas which either received a handful of comments or were quite rudely shot down. This results with people simply making the change for reasons she/he thinks are obvious, then losing patience with others when the work is dismissed as being "out-of-process" -- which does have a pejorative connotation. (I was going to mention that to BHG when I saw her first use it in this instance, without knowing whom she was writing about.) If these changes were made by ignoring a clearly expressed consensus, well that's a different issue & deserves different language to explain it. But since Wikipedia has such a loosely-bound community, we need to remember many of us work by ourselves, make reasonable decisions on our own, & get a little sensitive when someone appears & tells us we're not following fundamental policy. -- llywrch (talk) 23:44, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
[edit] DYK nomination of Purbuchok Hermitage
Hello! Your submission of Purbuchok Hermitage at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Storye book (talk) 16:26, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
- This has been attended.--Nvvchar (talk) 01:15, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
Clearly you just wanted to get out before anyone found out about the Osun/Ogun fiasco. Not so fast, my friend. First you finish the backlog of 15,487 articles on your "to do" list, then you get to retire if we have no more use for you. Not until then. We know where you are and can send helicopters to get you.
I too have an email address. Your decision, I suppose. All the best. Aymatth2 (talk) 02:39, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
[edit] The big picture
Wikipedia needs you for your strong analytical, organizational, and writing skills. I hope you return, even if HE or DB don't. --Rosiestep (talk) 02:39, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
