For your kind words and encouragement in your answer to Karen McCauley on Wikipedia:Help_Desk#Biotechnic & Histochemistry. I thought that was a really nice touch, and surprised me! As the user probably wouldn't know how to award this, I thought I would on her behalf [edit] Open CRSAre you familiar with OpenCRS? I just posted one of the references from Wikileaks to a relevant page, they noted they already had it, and the link pointed to this site. I haven't checked to see if the Wikileaks site is more comprehensive.--SPhilbrickT 21:25, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] English lawI think an English law wikiproject was proposed, but never got the numbers. I can't really see thaat many people replying so far, but we'll see what happens in terms of taskforces. [edit] Farm Typologythis page is littered with missing links. the see also section does not even lead to anything. Once again, you are using the same source which can be edited at any time. I think you should create a table that talks about each one of the items that you currently have linked. Just my thoughts.--keystoneridin! Bearian (talk) 16:38, 1 August 2009 (UTC) [edit] ROFLMAOLOL at this diff. I just got back from the airport a few hours ago. I'm still looking at the hornbook project you are getting going. I like the idea of improving the references of the law articles we have, but how important do you think it is to have outlines for every casebook out there? There are usually multiple competing casebooks for each subject, and each one usually has a new edition every few years. Hell, the casebooks sitting on my shelf here at home are already outdated, and I finished my J.D. in 2007. Regardless, I will continue adding to the legal content, and improving existing content, here on Wikipedia. I will be starting a Master of Public Policy program next month (yeah, I'm just a glutton for punishment), so I don't know how much time I will be able to devote to it in the coming weeks and months, but I will see what I can do. --Eastlaw talk ⁄ contribs 07:08, 2 August 2009 (UTC) [edit] Glad to helpHi Andrew, Hello, Thanks for inviting me, as well. I will be starting law school in a few weeks at Syracuse University. As such, I will certainly be using said books, as well as understanding the usefulness of such an endevour, and I plan on helping as much as law school with allow. One question: Have you looked at what is currently in place over at Wikiversity? It's not a lot, but the efforts may need some coordinating. Just a thought. 須藤 (talk) 19:21, 3 August 2009 (UTC) [edit] | ||||||||||||||||||||||

Nice meeting you as well, Andrew. I'm not a law student so much as a former law student - I'm a first year (rising second year) at Jenner & Block in Chicago. I've been a Wikipedian for 3-4 years now, though I mostly do History topics. I haven't done much on Law on Wikipedia, but I saw your request on the Community Portal and I thought it'd be fun to relive 1L Torts. In fact, the fist Wikipedia article I ever wrote was on my 1L torts professor, Morton Horwitz.
If you have concerns about copyright infringement, you should get those grey areas cleared up sooner rather than later. Nothing is worse than working on a Wikipedia project for weeks only to end up with it being blanked by an Admin, an experience I have had on more than one occasion. I think that the Table of Contents approach I'm taking to Epstein's casebook is probably alright, but it'd be nice to make sure to avoid a possible revert. What do you think of the TOC approach I'm doing? I wasn't sure exactly what you had in mind.
At this point, I've posted the first three chapters from my Torts casebook, and I've already linked to 40 cases that haven't had articles created for them. That indicates to me that if there's any hope of improving Wikipedia coverage of American law for even your basic 1L subjects, there is a lot of work still to be done. Hi Andrew, thanks for the links. The thing is I don't know Russian (think I pointed that out in the board post) though I've read a good deal about the era in other languages and in translation. So I wouldn't know where to find "Political Red Cross" on the Russian WP or in Russian-language historical literature. . The translation in some of the English web poages you indicated looks haphazard, as if it's been made by somebody who isn't good at English or by machine translation. Sometimes this makes the content unclear, but big thanks for finding those links! /Strausszek (talk) 09:17, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

I'll do this, you get on to doing real work :P. Ironholds (talk) 02:49, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
I don't think I have been a participant at Wikipedia_talk:Content_forking, though I'd be interested to know how you have the impression. My view on the proposal is that the revision loses the meaning that all content forks are less than desirable, by silently omitting the previous assessment that includes unintentional forks as being less than desirable though their effect of enabling diversity of a non-consensual sort, even if unintentional.

I have nominated Small farm, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Small farm. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Ash (talk) 17:43, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
BTW, if your back from your wikibreak, you might want to remove the notice from the top of this page. Debresser (talk) 07:10, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

You'd need strong consensus to change a longstanding lead on a core content policy. The changes you made removed some fairly important points. SlimVirgin talk|contribs 05:58, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Like I said, I figured you'd have the right way with words that eludes me, and I'm fairly happy with what you put forwards that it seems dickish to argue the toss. Good luck with the fifth pillar. I'll try to keep an eye on the conversation if needed. Hiding T 21:00, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Hi Andrew, thanks for that. Copy editing the NPOV policy will be difficult. It's extremely repetitive, but it is true that a few key words and sentences are important. The trick will be in identifying the ones that everyone agrees matter, so we can ditch the rest. Not sure I have the stomach for it, but if I do, your help would be most welcome. Likewise, if you decide to pitch in, I will try to assist rather than carp from the sidelines. :) SlimVirgin talk|contribs 19:44, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm not a spook, if that's what you're asking. :) I'm happy enough to keep editing as I am. Those were some great suggestions, though. I'm just wondering how long until someone actually takes any of them. 81.110.104.91 (talk) 13:52, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
When creating articles that are specific to the US can you include them in US categories only and do not include them in the top level Category:Agriculture. Also, can you add appropriate WikiProjects to the talks pages. Cheers. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 08:55, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
I very much doubt that I would be able to help with your project... However, I am now intrigued enough to ask the question: What is a Hornbook ? Bamkin (talk) 20:37, 27 August 2009 (UTC) , Commonwealth lawyer
I finally worked out a (somewhat) stable version of HAPPI that is ready for testing. If you are still interested in using the tool, I'd appreciate it if you let me know about any bugs you find. It might be a little choppy at first, but I plan to dedicate a significant portion of my time this week to getting it locked down. --EpochFail (talk|contribs) 21:03, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
This reminds me I never replied to your original query... my apologies! I'm not sure how that one slipped by.
You're right that we could usefully distinguish between a strict "how-to-use" and a more editorial discussion of where and when and why to use the template, and the various cultural overtones we apply to it... but I'm not really sure this particular page is appropriate in tone for the Wikipedia: namespace; it's a quick history of the template and its usage, written deliberately stiltedly, rather than anything usefully meta.
I initially wrote it as a bit of light-heartedness, and I think it's better it remain that way, seperate from the actual advisory material. I'm not sure where the link to it from that page crept in, but if you feel it's more appropriate on the talkpage, please do move it there.
Thanks for the kind words! Shimgray | talk | 12:53, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your message on 25 June. I'm sorry not to have replied but I've been off WP for several months. Is this still an issue now? Some of these MoS pages are not as open as they should be to addressing the concerns of actual contributors, because they get they are 'occupied' permanently by a few editorial 'authorities'. Anyway, please let me know if I can help. Best. --Kleinzach 08:34, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I just re-formatted the array to make it a bit more readable, both in definition (during editing) and rendered (for Wikipedia readers). To verify this you may just compare rendered versions before and after my changes. --CiaPan (talk) 14:47, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading File:Pulst.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

Thanks for uploading File:Pulst-freepermission.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
