Please contact me concerning anything to do with outlines or the Outline of knowledge WikiProject. Questions, problems, conflicts, AfD's, etc. etc. Thank you. Welcome Hi, I'm The Transhumanist. Yes, I'm actually into transhumanism, but for me that is merely an extension of the life stance of Humanism, which provides the basis of my personal values. To me, the most interesting pursuits of transhumanists are anti-aging and life extension. And strapping jet-powered wings to your back. The future is coming fast. I've been around since October of 2005, and have volunteered thousands of hours here. I'm fairly knowledgeable about the encyclopedia, how it is structured, and how it operates. If you've lost your way and can't find what you are looking for in the Wikipedia community, if I don't know where it is, I can usually find it pretty fast. Or, if you've hit a brick wall and can't figure something out, if I don't know the solution, I can usually find out pretty fast, or at least help get you in touch with someone who can help. Don't be shy. Wish list - Main article: The Transhumanist's Wish List
Be sure to check out my to-do/wish list - things I've noticed that are missing from or lacking on Wikipedia. It will take me years to complete all these by myself. But if you helped... :) | Wikiphilosophy -

- Concerning Wikipedia, I'm a:
|
(next page...)
| | | | Current projects - List creation - currently adding countries to Lists of basic topics, and a few non-geographic subjects as well.
- Recruiting - the above project is just too big for one or even a handful of editors. I'm spending more time spreading the word these days.
Topics currently interested in I've reached a plateau in how well I can contribute to the encyclopedia based on what I already know and how well I can use Wikipedia to improve Wikipedia (via copying & pasting, etc.) This has shifted my attention toward external resources and collaboration. - Jet-Man - check this guy out!
- The Internet - and everything on it.
- Libraries - that is, the collections of materials themselves.
- Geography - can't travel at the moment, so I'm exploring the world virtually. Along the way, I've been building tables of contents for Wikipedia's coverage of geography, to assist others in their virtual travels. Which country should I "visit" next?
- Exercise - been studying the human capacity for exercise, an aspect of exercise which hasn't been covered on Wikipedia yet.
- Nutrition - studying dose-dependent effects of nutrients, caloric density in relation to obesity and other health problems, the role of sugar in producing cholesterol overload and cardiovascular disease, vitamin C's role in metabolism in general, which foods cause inflammation, etc.
- Nootropics (cognitive enhancers) - been studying the deleterious (bad) effects of caffeine (which is often used as a cognitive enhancer). There are many alternatives which are just as effective, without the undesirable side effects.
- Health - reading up on health in external sources. Prevention is barely covered on Wikipedia. Effectiveness (including relative effectiveness) of health strategies and medical treatment protocols even less so. Besides these, I've been studying the immune system (and how to boost it) and cell biology, on and off of Wikipedia.
- Biotechnology - it's on my reading list: genetics, stem cell research, cloning, etc. Not as immediately relevant to health as exercise and nutrition.
- Robotics - built the basic topics list on this subject with the intent to use it as a reading list, though I haven't had time to delve in yet.
- Space exploration - worked on this subject's basic list for the same reason.
- Thought - sporadically studying speed reading, to create more time. :)
- Humanism - just reread the Humanist Manifestos from time to time, and studying the unrelated works of a few famous humanists.
- Transhumanism - been studying some of the technologies transhumanists are interested in (see above), and have been reading more lately on their various expectations...
- Singularitarianism - is The Singularity inevitable? Seems so to me.

The Socrates barnstar of philosophical merit, twice!, plus a working man's barnstar, for participating in the collaboration to add crucial missing definitions to the Glossary of philosophical isms, tripling his initial contribution, in the effort to complete this comprehensive article. Philosophy is hard work. This article has been waiting a loooong time. Thank you! The Transhumanist 07:26, 29 December 2007 (UTC), 12:01, 2 January 2008 (UTC), & 04:49, 3 January 2008 (UTC) - WeBuriedOurSecretsInTheGarden -
The Socrates barnstar of philosophical merit, for adding crucial missing definitions to the Glossary of philosophical isms, in the collaborative effort to complete this comprehensive article. Thank you. It's almost done! The Transhumanist 07:03, 29 December 2007 (UTC) - Owain.davies - The Barnstar of Life, for a particularly fine job of creating and editing the article emergency. The Transhumanist 20:03, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- Striver - The Surreal Barnstar, for championing the article Family tree of Umar against the many irrational (systemic) biases that were opposed to it, including resurrecting it from deletion, and then from the jaws of deletion itself. The systemic bias of Wikipedia seems to be getting stronger, since legitimate articles like this are being deleted on a regular basis. May Striver and others like him turn the tide. The Transhumanist 23:03, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- CJ - The Tireless Contributor Barnstar, for his great many contributions to, and ceaseless devotion to the improvement of, Wikipedia's portals. The Transhumanist 20:28, 28 March 2006 (UTC) (I used to edit as "Go for it!").
Service award recipients - Zachary Crimsonwolf - The Novice editor award, for dedicated contribution to Wikipedia. The Transhumanist 23:12, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

for contributing his entire July, without sleep, to Wikipedia! The Transhumanist 23:12, 24 November 2007 (UTC) - EvanS - The Novice editor award for contributing faithfully to articles on Wikipedia. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing your future contributions to articles. The Transhumanist 23:12, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

My kindest regards to you, and drop by as often as possible! Now, a little token of my appreciation... The Golden Wiki Award; This, the Golden Wiki Award, the highest attainment level of awards and barnstars, goes to you - The Transhumanist - for being one of the most helpful, kind, resourceful and generous Wikipedians I've had to utmost fortune to meet. Your contributions around the Wiki - at the WikiClassroom, in Dispute Resolution, at the Welcoming Committee, but most of all being a genuinely fun guy, are an amazing feat, and if half the trolls I'll undoubtedly meet after gaining my mop (thanks to you) took a leaf from your book, Wikipedia would be a nicer place. - I thought you seemed familiar. You're the one who wrote those extensive FAQs on how to make user pages. You've been very helpful. BTW, you can thank me for removing some vandalism of one of your pages (several paragraphs of nonsense about WWE) that had been there for weeks. I don't have the specific diffs. You'll just have to take my word for it. You deserve a barnstar for your efforts. I can't think of anyone who has contributed more to Wikipedia, except maybe Jimbo. I'm not sure where to put this on your frontpage, so here it is:

Thanks in advanceCstubbies (talk) 12:40, 19 January 2008 (UTC) A valuable service I think you need recognition for doing the job of ten other editors, and doing it out of altruism and genuine belief in Wikipedia. Not many editors here have the same good attitude and provide the same service as you - I don't have any specific point to put across, but I thought you should just be prodded and reminded that you do a lot of good around here, in the hope you'll keep it up.
