Whereof one has nothing to say, thereof one must stay silent.

Freely adapted from Ludwig Wittgenstein.

Hi, thought I'd give a Barnstar to someone who actually deserves one. - Diceman 19:58, 17 May 2005 (UTC)

I'm from the Czech Republic and work as a software developer. I am trying to improve the coverage of Czech cities and villages. See User:Pavel Vozenilek/Locations for progress (quick info: very slow).

I also spend my spare time fighting with vandals and general Wiki maintenance.

During the time I have been here I have seen an increase by a factor of 3-4 in the number of articles, visitors, contributors etc; yet the tools to maintain Wikipedia quality remain insufficient. IMHO, unless they improve, Wikipedia will grow worse and eventually it will acquire the reputation of being a garbage bin.

"low" quality version (looks better, recommended)

[edit] Whither hence?

"Whereof one has nothing to say, thereof one must stay silent." You might consider altering one or more -hereofs', for example, "Whereof one has nothing to say one must stay silent." (Depending whether your're seeking a translation or quoting one.) Unfree (talk) 00:52, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

now come on! The 'whereof/thereof' combo, apart from its pleasing assonance, is a perfectly acceptable rendition of Wittgenstein's 'wovon/davon'.--Smerus (talk) 08:21, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
