[edit] About MeAs my name suggests, I am a Scouter and a scuba diver. I hold a PADI Open Water qualification, and really must pull my finger out and complete my Advanced so that I can explore some of the wrecks I am interested in. I am also a keen flyer, though I hold no license at the moment. I was an officer with the RAF VR(T), which gave me a chance to fly aerobatics the Scottish Aviation Bulldog, which I maintain is the best basic trainer the RAF have ever had. Every pilot should have the chance to have a play with one of these! I'm a keen historian, and consider my specialist areas to be Roman Britain, East Anglia, the European theatre of WW2, Scouting history and the county of Norfolk. I help run a small museum, which is part of the Mid-Norfolk Railway, where I also work as a member of the volunteer train crew. I like to assume good-faith, until proven wrong, and try to edit and create articles free from POV and according to Wikipedia policy. I do, however have a problem with duplicity and expect all articles to be treated equally by all editors regardless of their own affiliations or beliefs. Whilst I will always try to remain polite, I will argue strongly against anyone who I feel is using Wikipedia to further their own agenda at the expense of content. [edit] Subject matter I'm working onCurrently I am concentrating on upgrading the "Independent Scouting" organisation articles to try to match those of the "mainstream" organisations, developing the articles on RAF stations and East Anglian airfields of WW2, and railway facilities in the English county of Norfolk. I am also trying to upgrade some of the stub articles on the smaller towns and villages in my local area. I am part of the Article Rescue Squadron, and will try to help save worthy articles from deletion when I see them threatened with AfD. I try to keep an eye on a few pages in order to stop vandalism, and have, quite accidentally, become a defender of Tim Westwood!!! [edit] Pages added to WikipediaAlthough I mostly work on improving existing articles, sometimes those little red links just seem so tempting: Baden-Powell Award Pages added as "User:RedCoat", no longer an active account due to corruption of its password: British Rail Class 105 [edit] Pages I have helped save during AfDSometimes notable articles are put forward for deletion, when small amounts of work would bring them up to scratch. I'm proud to say that I have, in some way, helped keep the following on Wikipedia: Girl Scouts of Jamaica [edit] These are the voyages......of the user DiverScout...
