Colin T Mercer is an Irish Poet & Writer born in belfast 1966 to Father Joseph Mercer and his Mother Emaur Coffey he had never been one to achieve at accademical studies and from the beginning was told he would never be a writer and would be better served as a trades man.

After a hard time in school going through alot of testing times from bullying to isolation by his own nature, he eventally left at 16 years of age. He started work in 1983 as an electrician where he worked for several companys in Northern Ireland. It was during this early working time period that Mercer met his wife to be Kathleen Grace Hamill on the 6th of September 1986 and they would eventally be married in 1990.

His first daughter was born on the 10th of March 1992 christened Catherine Martha Jane Mercer. They lived in the town of lisburn at 37 Saintfield Road from they were married and on the 6th of July 1995 Louise Voilet Mercer was born. Louise got her middle name from Mercers grandmother Violet Mercer who lived all her married life in Belfasts "Village area" at 70 Olympia Drive.

Never happy with their house being so close to a noisy road they decided in late 1999 to move house to a more relaxed sourounding. Tis turned out to be 14A Tullyrusk road Dundrod Crumlin. locally known as "The hollow" It was a very pictures cottage down a private lane shared with another larger house. Colin loved the house imeadeatly dispite its remoteness from the town. I loved that fact it had it ownlittle private wooded cove and river that ran through the property.

It was also around this time that he took the jump in late 1999 and started his own company. They would have a 3rd child called Gabrielle Rose Mercer Feburary 19th 2003.

By the year 2006 Mercer decided to take up writing something he had dremt of as a boy but never persuied. After a number of published anthologies of poetry He put together his first fully published book "For Irish Eyes" which was published out of Newyork City by AEG publications in Sep 9th 2009. He is now working on Fiction writing with the home to publish his first in North America by 2010 but still considers himself a Poet first.
