| HELLO Heading here, but remove 'display: none;' on row (above; leave just '|-') | Hi, I am the Banksia Study Group leader in the Australian Plants Society (aka Wildflower Society/SGAP). I live in Sydney and have a head full of trivia. I have been an admin here for a while, since March 2007 after being nominated by Spawn Man. I have nominated three other editors, Sabine's Sunbird, Cbl62 and GrahamColm to adminship. I was successful in the 2008 elections for the arbitration committee, however resigned in October 2009 after keeping quiet when I should have spoken up. Long story that. Maybe over a few beers sometime. In any case, resigning was made easier with the knowledge I was leaving a good crew in charge - keep up the good work guys. I can vouch for the identity of the following editors I have met IRL, including Ta bu shi da yu, Anonymous Dissident, Witty lama, Angela, Tony1, Werdna, Enochlau, Alastair Haines (who I have known for 25 years), Tamsin, Wikiwookie, Nick-D, Noetica, Wm, One Salient Oversight, BenAveling, Jimbo, Privatemusings, Tim Starling, Andjam, Hesperian, Gnangarra, Moondyne, Cygnis insignis as well as chatting to The_undertow, Orderinchaos and FT2 on the phone. - I figure every bit helps - 23:06, 9 October 2006 - Amanita muscaria (added German common name) was my 3000th edit.

I have found working with a bunch of like minded folks on an article or wikiproject when it kicks into top gear one of the most inspiring things, the rapid-fire editing of an article gunning toward FA as writer's blocks are sequentially blasted out of the way is just amazing to witness via the diffs/hists. I am a bit of a slob — all my work on FAs has been the result of collaborations with two or more really good copyeditors and folk who are much more perfectionist than I am. Thanks guys. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (see the pageview stats(?)) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. | | On October 26, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Observations, systematical and geographical, on the herbarium collected by Professor Christian Smith, in the vicinity of the Congo, during the expedition to explore that river, under the command of Captain Tuckey, in the year 1816, which you recently nominated. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. | | Travelled a bit and may have some snaps of places below I'll try to upload from time to time... National flags: | To-Do List (Sometime..Anyone up for an impromptu collaboration?) Take to FA Status Collaborating and gunning for FA with 2-3 editors is loads of fun; here's my list of articles to work on at some stage. If you feel a hankering to collaborate on one, let me know or add one you think I may want to get involved with or on, these may include any biology, medicine, geography, mythology or astronomy-related subject. There are a few dinosaurs but they turn up so often on the dino pages that I just push for them there. On the radar Longer way off Potential DYKs OK, a moral prize to the most notable/vital/core/general article currently a stub (<150 words). List here and we can all attack and expand. Thus, list the stub here if you found it but haven't the time or resources to expand it, or even better just expand it and put on the suggestion page. I have listed some categories. Feel free to add another category, this should all be in good fun :) Biggest city/town/suburb/hamlet/village (by population) - Zunil in Guatemala, 14000 people, cool town and 108 words to describe it
- Phonsavan in Laos, a provincial capital with 57,000 people, has 85 words.
- Mbabane, 70000 people, 132 words. It also happens to be the capital of Swaziland. Moroni, Comoros is another capital city with a stub article. I thought of expanding of those a few months ago, but ran out of enthusiasm and forgot about it (and I couldn't find any sources for the Moroni article anyway). - Bobet 17:13, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
- South Tangerang - 41 word stub
Most prominent architectural feature Most prominent geographical feature Most notable public figure - Magnus Volk. I have wanted to expand this, but have been too busy writing about Brighton churches ;) ... multi-talented, slightly eccentric inventor and pioneer, one of the most important figures in Brighton's history. His Daddy Long Legs is one of the craziest methods of transport ever conceived. Hassocks5489 (tickets please!) 11:46, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
Most important literary work Most widely eaten food or culinary-type thing Most important plant most eucalyptus, hakea, acacia and melaleuca species, Grevillea cultivars such as 'Coconut Ice', 'Fire Sprite', 'Golden Yul-lo', 'Misty Pink', 'Orange Marmalade', 'Sandra Gordon', any Poorinda cultivar Most notable animal Fungi Highest level biology rank Question What about unranked levels of classification? Papa Lima Whiskey (talk) 09:00, 19 September 2008 (UTC) - Anyway, if unranked is allowed, one of my entries would be Hyperoartia. There's also Anaspida, which according to Endeiolepis and Jamoytius kerwoodi is at the same rank and is a class. Papa Lima Whiskey (talk) 09:23, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

- Hoho, I can see a DYK there "Did you know that Anaspida are...and Anapsida are..." hehehe.Cheers, Casliber (talk · contribs) 12:34, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

- You're right - that one is not particularly developed either. We should go for it. ^^ Papa Lima Whiskey (talk) 14:49, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
Over at Tree of Life you ask for stubs of high taxonomic rank. Your 150 word limit may not be suitable - a taxobox takes an article way over that. However if 0 is an acceptable value Corallochytrea must be a contender. (Wikipedia ES has a stub for this - Choanozoa has a redlink to corallochytrid). - Would it be more appropriate to instead create Corallochytrium limacisporum, since that is the only species, and additional, fossil protist species may not be so easy to reconstruct and classify? Papa Lima Whiskey (talk) 09:09, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
Taxobox doesn't count as prose (cool, eh?)..Hesperian found Gracilicutes (unranked clade under domain...whoa..), Sphagnopsida (class), and Trimerophytophyta (division(!)). Cheers, Casliber (talk · contribs) 12:32, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

- Monotreme - comprising Monotreme, Platypus, Short-beaked Echidna, etc.
- Lion - Lion (FA), Cultural depictions of lions, Lion-baiting, Lion taming, Lion (heraldry), Barbary Lion, Asiatic Lion, Narasimha, etc.

That page has now been sunsetted (and I hope never to need to bring it back) but the work you did there (whether by bringing articles forward, reviewing them, or protecting them... or even by questioning or criticizing the process!) was of great help to the project. See you in the trenches! ++Lar: t/c 01:50, 7 September 2009 (UTC) | | | Awarded to Casliber, as a "bicentennial" recognition of sustained high-quality content creation.
