Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mazhar Baqa Ph.D. (April 20, 1922 - August 20, 2005) was a researcher, critic, linguist, author, scholar of Urdu literature and linguistics, educator and religious and spiritual leader^{[clarification needed]} belonging to the Naqshbandi order of Sufism.

Baqa was born on Sha'aban 22, 1340 Hijra (April 20, 1922 in Sironj, Madhya Pradesh, India. After getting the basic education in his home town, he went to Darul Uloom Deoband, where he studied Dars-e-Nizami. After his migration to Pakistan, he achieved his masters degree in Islamic Studies from Karachi University in 1962. In 1969, he received his Ph.D. in Islamic Studies. The topic of his thesis was "Usul al-fiqh aur Shāh Walī Allāh". He has spent his entire life in education and research. The details of his literary work can be seen below.
