The Augustana Campus is a faculty of the University of Alberta located in Camrose, Alberta, Canada. It was merged into the larger, Edmonton, Alberta-based University in 2004. Approximately 1000 students of the University of Alberta study full-time[1] at the Augustana Campus. The Faculty is very diverse and draws both from the surrounding area (especially rural areas around Camrose) and from the rest of Canada and elsewhere to make up its student population and staff. There is also a strong contingent of International Students on campus. The Faculty has five departments: Fine Arts, Humanities, Physical Education, Science, and Social Science. The Augustana Campus also hosts a Bachelor of Science in Nursing after-degree program being run by the Faculty of Nursing. Augustana students benefit from small class size, proximity to the teaching staff, and "a close knit lively campus community"[1]. Augustana competes predominantly in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference and Canadian Colleges Athletic Association as the Augustana Vikings. Team sports include: hockey, basketball, volleyball, biathlon, cross country running & skiing, and curling. The Viking Cup is an annual hockey tournament, hosted by Augustana, which features teams from North America and Europe.
