Ukwa is a census town in Balaghat district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. [edit] GeographyUkwa is located at 21°58′N 80°28′E / 21.97°N 80.47°E[1]. Ukwa has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 80%, and female literacy is 64%. In Ukwa, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age, Pondi Village is just 3 kilometers far from Ukwa bus stand. Nearly 40% of Adiwasi(Baiga) people are living in this village. Govt need to think about their social development,This caste comes under reserve category but hardly any person is in Govt services.The most interesting thing for this area is that for a long time, only ST MLA is representing this assembly (baihar), but he never thinks about baiga caste improvement. As per Indian law This caste(Baiga) is having the right of top most reservation. Yet even one person is not gatting their Primary education. Who is responsible for this? [edit] References
