Main article: UEFA Euro 1984 The final of UEFA Euro 1984 was a football match played on 27 June 1984 at Parc des Princes in Paris, France to determine the winner of UEFA Euro 1984. The match featured tournament hosts, France, who went into the match as favourites and arguably the best team in Europe,[1] and Spain. France midfielder Michel Platini opened the scoring in the 57th minute with his ninth goal of the tournament, a free-kick which spilled through the hands of Spanish keeper Luis Arconada. Bruno Bellone doubled France's lead in the final minute to give them a 2–0 victory. Bellone's goal was the only one of France's fourteen goals to be scored by a striker. [edit] Match details
