The UEFA Cup 1995-96 was won by Bayern Munich on aggregate over Bordeaux. Girondins de Bordeaux went to the finals all the way from the UEFA Intertoto Cup 1995.

Örebro SK, Sweden defeated FC Avenir Beggen, Luxembourg in the preliminary round but some days later, it was decided that FC Avenir Beggen was allowed to advance since Örebro SK fielded an ineligible player.
