The Turtle Bay Resort is a resort located in Kahuku, Hawaii. The hotel is the only major hotel on the North Shore of Oahu, and is a 50 minute drive from Honolulu. The hotel is situated on 880 acres (3.6 km2) of land at Turtle Bay, and features 375 rooms, 26 suites, and 42 Beach Bungalows. The hotel is situated on a small bay which provides every room with an ocean view. Resort facilities include two golf courses, 10 tennis courts, pools, and a spa. It sits just north of the Kuilima Estates condominium complexes that reside along both of its golf courses. The hotel was built in 1972, and originally belonged to the Hilton Hotels. It is currently owned by Kuilima Resort Company and is managed and operated by Benchmark Hospitality International. A potential development deal with Starwood Hotels fell through in July 2007.[1] The resort is close to surf spots, including Waimea Bay, the Banzai Pipeline, and Sunset Beach. The resort is in proximity to Hale'iwa, Brigham Young University Hawaii campus and the Polynesian Cultural Center. Films and TV shows have been filmed on location at the Turtle Bay Resort. The hotel has been featured in, or the setting for episodes of Hawaii 5-0, Magnum P.I., Full House and the short-lived Fox TV series North Shore. The resort featured prominently as the setting for the 2008 film Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Palm Terrace - Island dishes, including dinner buffets. Lei Lei's Bar and Grill - Meat and seafood entrees restaurant that overlooks the Resort golf course. Hang Ten Bar and Grill - Cocktails and lunch outside by the pool. Bay Club - A sports bar atmosphere with casual dining, a 52-inch (1.3 m) plasma television, billiards, foosball, shuffleboard, and darts.
