The Hürriyet Daily News and Economic Review, formerly Turkish Daily News, is the oldest current English-language daily in Turkey. The paper was bought by the Doğan Media Group in 2001 and has been under the media group's flagship Hürriyet since 2006 [1].
[edit] Name changeThe paper recently changed its name to Hürriyet Daily News and Economic Review. Daily News has a new layout as well. The paper has two front pages with the second front page serving the Economic Review [2]. The new layout and design of the paper was also accompanied by new pages, most notably the Metronome page, dedicated to city-related news from the major metropolitan areas in Turkey, and Horizons, dedicated to news from Turkey's near abroad. [edit] LeadershipThe editor-in-chief is David Judson with Barcin Yinanc serving as managing editor of news and Taylan Bilgic heading the Economic Review. [edit] Economic ReviewThe Economic Review section, headed up by Taylan Bilgic, partners with the Turkish financial paper, Referans. It reports on the Turkish economy focusing on key sectors like real estate, tourism, and information technology.
