Tumid lupus erythematosus is a rare, but distinctive entity in which patients present with edematous erythematous plaques, usually on the trunk.[1] Lupus erythematosus tumidus (LET) was reported by Henri Gougerot and Burnier1 R. in 1930. It is photosensitive skin disorder, differnce subtype of cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) apart form discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE) or subacute CLE (SCLE).[2] LET usually found on sun-exposed areas of the body. Skin lesion are edematous, urticarialike annular papules and plaques. Topical corticosteroid are not effective to treat LET, but very well response to Chloroquine. LET resolve with normal skin, no residual scarring, no hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation. Cigarette smoker who have LET may not response very well to Chloroquine.[3][4] [edit] See also[edit] References
