Troy Franklin O'Leary (born August 4, 1969 in Compton, California) is a former left fielder in Major League Baseball who played with the Milwaukee Brewers (1993-1994), Boston Red Sox (1995-2001), Montreal Expos (2002) and Chicago Cubs (2003) and also in the Australian Baseball League for the Daikyo Dolphins.[1] He batted and threw left-handed. In an 11-season career, O'Leary posted a .274 batting average with 127 home runs and 591 runs batted in in 1198 games. A 13th-round pick in 1987, O'Leary enjoyed a great 1992 season at Double-A El Paso, winning the Texas League batting title with a .334 average and stealing 28 bases. O'Leary had batted over .330 twice before. He was promoted to Milwaukee a year later, and after two seasons, he was selected off waivers by the Red Sox. From 1996-1998, he collected at least 80 RBI in each season, batting .308 in 1995 and a career-high .309 in 1997. In 1999, he compiled career highs in home runs (28), RBI (103), doubles (36), and finished with a .280 average. O'Leary hit his first career home run September 1st, 1994 off San Diego Padres reliever Adam Clark. O'Leary is currently working on writing a book about his MLB career. Troy O'Leary is looking to start his own baseball reality show where he will judge 15 baseball players from the east, west, mideast and midwest. It is estimated Troy earned over $16 million during his baseball career. Since his retirement, Troy has been focused on being a full-time dad, teaching kids baseball in the Phoenix area, and working on his golf game. In August of 2009, it was discovered that Annette Gray O'Leary, Troy's ex-wife, was working as a professional escort while serving as an assistant principal at Kyrere Del Cielo Elementary School. She uses the name "Taya Taylor" and advertises services on her website; including a "girlfriend experience" for $450 an hour. Given the circumstances, Troy has taken full-time custody from his ex-wife; however, does allow her visitation rights. Troy currently resides in the Phoenix, AZ, metro area and is engaged to a local I.T. consultant for Wells Fargo, Alexandra Athanasopoulos. Troy, along with fiance Alex and some other associates, are hoping to get his baseball reality show "Play Big or Go Home", into production. Several fellow athletes claim this idea to be their own, which has resulted in some legal battles. In addition, comedian and TV host Drew Carey, has asked to be involved with the show. Negotiations are still underway. [edit] References[edit] External links
