[edit] History

Little Mo fought back after he tried to rape her again, seen here clobbering Trevor with an iron.

He was first introduced to Albert Square in December 2000 when Little Mo returned to him after a separation. He had been violent towards her and promised never to beat her again, but he hadn't changed and continued humiliate and beat her despite her attempts to keep him happy. On one occasion, he grabbed Mo's head and rubbed it in her Christmas dinner. He also burnt her hand with an iron after she refused to tell him about the issues in her family. As had happened before, he was apologetic, but it would only be a matter of time before he lost his temper again and would often isolate her from her family.

When Little Mo planned to go her sister Lynne's wedding, he was livid to find out that she was going behind his back, and raped her as a punishment.

Trevor's treatment of Little Mo didn't go down well with her family the Slaters. They all despised him greatly and always tried to persuade Mo to leave him. Mo's sister Kat Slater had a habit to slag Trevor off behind his back and to his face and due to his dislike of his sister-in-law he rarely didn't give her the same in return which often resulted in slanging matches. The Slaters patriarch Charlie Slater on a few occasions strangled and battered Trevor after hearing that he had burnt Mo with an iron.

After Little Mo did eventually leave Trevor in December 2001, he came to Pauline Fowler's house (where she was looking after Lisa Fowler's daughter Louise) and told her he wanted her back. Little Mo resisted him and he became violent, and she reacted by battering Trevor over the head with an iron after he tried to rape her. Mo believed he was dead but when she and her family returned to dispose of Trevor's body, he had gone. Trevor had staggered into an alley, where he collapsed and was found by a passer-by. He reported Little Mo to the police and she was charged with attempted murder. Trevor gave evidence at Little Mo's trial which was very biased in his favour, and despite strong evidence of domestic violence, the jury found her guilty, although she was freed within weeks after her conviction was quashed on appeal.

Trevor had an affair with a woman called Donna Andrews, and they had a son, Sean, who was born in 2001. Whilst Little Mo was in prison Kat vowed to get her out by trying to persuade Donna to give evidence against Trevor. However when Donna ended up in hospital as a result of Trevor's abuse, Kat took control of the baby at the Slater household. However Trevor turned up for Sean and searched the house Sean was with Mo Harris out the back. In the kitchen he started smashing plates on the floor to scare Kat but then the baby started crying outside. Trevor tried to get out the back while the door was locked but Kat stood in his way. He battered Kat to the floor whilst she tried to stop him from going out the back door on time for the police to come in and arrest him. Later on, Little Mo was released and Trevor's charges were dropped.

Trevor later returned to the Square whilst Little Mo dated Billy Mitchell who had always fancied her and despised Trevor because of his abuse of Mo. He foolishly tried to manipulate her back to him by harassing her after dating Sam Mitchell and whilst she filed for divorce. In the end, he was banished from the square.

However he returned just one week later at their engagement party on Halloween 2002. he snatched her from the office at e20. Trevor had turned up in disguise as a monster, did not speak a word to the other guests, and pretended to be "Donald Andrews". He later started a fire in the Slater family home with Little Mo and Sean inside. Little Mo was rescued by their neighbour Tom Banks, who, along with Trevor, was killed when he went back into the burning house for Trevor and the flames ignited a can of oil, which resulted in an explosion that rocked the Square.

[edit] Reception

Trevor Morgan was voted "Most Hated Soap Villain" by readers of What's On TV magazine, with 21% of the votes. In second place was Coronation Street's Richard Hillman, with 16%.[1]

The scene in which Trevor poured gravy onto Little Mo's dinner plate, pushed her face into it and then forced her to eat turkey off the floor was voted 57th in Channel 4's 100 Greatest Scary Moments.[2] Alex Ferns also won many awards in the British soap awards including 'best villain'.
