Three Rivers is a local government district in Hertfordshire in the East of England. Its council is based in Rickmansworth. It was formed on 1 April 1974 by the merger of Rickmansworth Urban District and Chorleywood Urban District with part of Watford Rural District.[2] The three rivers of the name are the Chess, Gade and Colne.

[edit] ParliamentFor parliamentary elections, the district is divided across three constituencies. Most of the district is within the South West Hertfordshire constituency, which is considered a safe Conservative seat and held by a Conservative MP (currently David Gauke) since its creation in 1950. The eastern parts of the constituency, to the north and south of Watford, are part of that borough's constituency, which is a three-way marginal currently held by Labour's Claire Ward, having fluctuated between Labour and the Conservatives. Most of the north-eastern ward of Bedmond and Primrose Hill is in the St Albans constituency, which is currently held by the Conservative Anne Main.
[edit] WardsThree Rivers is composed of twenty wards: [edit] TransportTrain services in the district are provided by Chiltern Railways (CR), London Midland, London Overground and the Metropolitan Line of the London Underground (LU). London Underground stations:
The track and stations are owned by London Underground. A special fare structure exists as the stations are outside the Greater London boundary although much of the district is within the north westerly bounds of the M25 motorway and the London commuter belt. If the proposed Croxley Rail Link goes ahead, it would run through the district, providing two new Underground stations between Croxley and Watford Junction. London Overground stations:
