The Three Brothers are three mountains in the Camden Haven district on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Australia. They were named by Captain James Cook during his voyage along the east coast of Australia in May 1770.[1]

The mountains are named:

North Brother: 31°38′31″S 152°48′07″E / 31.642°S 152.802°E / -31.642; 152.802
Middle Brother: 31°42′07″S 152°40′41″E / 31.702°S 152.678°E / -31.702; 152.678
South Brother: 31°44′42″S 152°40′26″E / 31.745°S 152.674°E / -31.745; 152.674

The name "Three Brothers" is a striking coincidence, as the mythology of the local Aboriginal people, the Birpai, tells of three brothers killed by a witch named Widjirriejuggi who were buried where each mountain stands.[1]

The main radio and television transmitters for the Mid North Coast region are located on the summit of Middle Brother.[2]

North and Middle Brothers have been declared national parks, named Dooragan National Park and Middle Brother National Park respectively.
