The Thiruvallauvar University was established under the Thiruvalluvar University Act, 2002. (Tamil Nadu Act 32 of 2002) by the Government of Tamil Nadu on 16.10.2002, with an ambition and motto to empower the society with higher education. The University is presently located in Vellore Fort, which is one of the monuments of the Vellore Town. The approximate circumference of the fort is 2600 meters. The fort is the perfect specimen of the Military Architecture in South India.

In the Second Annual Convocation, a total of candidates received their degrees.
