The World's Greatest Superheroes was a syndicated newspaper comic strip featuring DC Comics characters, that ran Sunday and daily from 9 April 1978 to 10 February 1985.

Initially starring Superman, Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Black Lightning, it underwent two title changes, as the focus changed to feature Superman primarily. In October 1981, the title changed to The World's Greatest Superheroes Presents Superman, and on 9 January 1983 became The Superman Sunday Special.

Writers included Martin Pasko, Paul Levitz, Gerry Conway, Paul Kupperberg, and Bob Rozakis, with artists including George Tuska, Vince Colletta, Jose Delbo, Bob Smith, Frank McLaughlin, and Sal Trapani. It was DC Comics art director and inker Vince Colletta who brought George Tuska on board as the penciler for this series. The two men had collaborated many times in the past. Colletta valued Tuska's clean lines and felt that his style would enhance the look of the newspaper strip.
