The University in Burdwan was started in 1960, and awarded 4 star status by NAAC is a public university located in Bardhaman, West Bengal, India. It functioned from 15 June, 1960 with 30 undergraduate colleges spread over five districts that came underthe jurisdiction of the univ. The new University Act is in force from 1981.
