[edit] Features[edit] Best Places to WorkSince 2003, The Scientist has conducted Best Places to Work surveys: one for postdoctoral researchers in all sectors, one for all life scientists working in industry, and one for all life scientists working in academia. These surveys aim to find what aspects of the workplace are most important for job satisfaction, and which institutions measure up to those standards. Throughout the year, The Scientist publishes overviews of these surveys' results, highlighting the top ranking institutions in each. [edit] Life Science Industry AwardsThe Life Science Industry Awards recognize life science suppliers with the "best-in-class" product and services as well as customer communications and support. The winners of these awards are determined by the industry’s own customers - scientists in biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, in government and academia. The Life Science Industry Awards are awarded annually by The Scientist. [edit] Laboratory Web Site and Video AwardsBeginning in 2007, The Scientist began recognizing laboratories who were best using the internet to further science. Labs using YouTube, Wikipedia, JoVE, and other tools to best collaborate, communicate and research were nominated by readers around the world. [edit] The Scientist OnlineThe Scientist also offers a comprehensive website which complements the print version by offering up-to-the-minute life science news, interactive multimedia features, and several channels to stimulate dialogue and involvement among its readership. The current month’s journal content, news blogs, and podcasts are freely available with registration, while premium subscribers are also also given access to the journal's archives which contains over 20 years of articles, news and editorials.
