"The Great American Nightmare" is a rock song performed by Rob Zombie and radio personality Howard Stern. Written by Zombie and Charlie Clouser, the song was included on Zombie's 2003 compilation album Past, Present & Future. Made for Stern's 1997 film Private Parts, the song appears in the film's opening scene. Since January 6, 1999, it has been the opening theme for Stern's radio show, replacing "Tilt-A-Whirl" by Jimmie Vaughan that had been used since April 1994. In 2006, Stern considered changing to "Time Has Come Today" by The Chambers Brothers but dropped this idea due to fan feedback. [edit] Track listing
