Founded in 1980 as a Voice Over recording studio and training center for aspiring Film/Television actors, The Actors Workshop remains one of California’s oldest and most respected acting programs. In 1980 the workshop dropped its voice-over program and began concentrating solely on Film Acting[1]. In the first six months the workshop doubled its enrollment and by the following year began attracting the attention some of Hollywood’s top Film/TV Casting Directors such as Robin Lippin, Hank McCann, Susan McCrae, Barbara Clayman and Mary Jo Slater (mother of Christian Slater). Many of its students over the years have landed dozens of starring roles in motion picture and television shows such as (The Hurricane[disambiguation needed]), (The Patriot), (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), (Ferris Bueller's Day Off), (Sleepwalkers), (Charmed), (24), (Chuck), (The Bold and the Beautiful) and many others.

Now in its 30th year, The Actors Workshop, North Hollywood and Orange County, California remains under the direction of its founder R.J. Adams and son, director Rob Adams both working film and television actors.
