Tha Carter is the critically acclaimed 2004 rap album by American rapper Lil Wayne. The album was produced by Cash Money Records's former in-house producer, Mannie Fresh. This was the last album from longtime in-house producer Mannie Fresh before Fresh split from the label.

Tha Carter is praised as Lil Wayne's best work, showcasing his rap talent and Mannie Fresh's production talents. The album is considered by many to be a rap classic, with fans admiring both its eccentric themes and the quality of its tracks. The album spawned hit single "Go D.J.", which is considered a classic rap song.

The album has been certified Gold by the RIAA in the U.S. with sales of over 500,000 copies.

Tha Carter followed Lil Wayne's work in Da Drought mixtape and The Prefix mixtape, where he freestyled over The Black Album. Tha Carter peaked at number five on the 2004 Billboard 200, and at number two on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.
